Well, think about this. We have cryptocurrencies and fiat. We have postmails and we have email. Well, this world is full of alternatives. And when it comes to crypto, why we have so many cryptocurrencies, it is just because we're late in jumping the bitcoin train.

fiat, Bitcoin, ALtcoin, and a lot of ICO. If that's what you mean  so many currencies, yes it is. But I thought not every store and business would create their own crypto currency. It would be need more cost for them, to create it, and to promote it. Its not that simple to create your own cryptocc. You will need  team to manage and develop it. THey would prefer use the crypto that already exist. Except, they have a project with cryptocurrency based, and need to collect money by creating an ICO.

And they are just trying to ride the popularity of bitcoin.  Its like they are also trying to have what bitcoin has right now.  Like what you said, some are scams because people wanted to have money.  Or maybe they just wanted to try to copy the popularity of bitcoin.

Why so many currencies ? If they think that it will happen like Bitcoin (from the bottem now it is 7k) they are wrong, it is true that history repeats itself but now I Don't think it will be the case.

That question you mean "Why are so many Altcoins?" If that so then following reasons in my own views;
-Bitcoin Core is open-source and developed with numbers of developers today to keep the stability of the system and to show transparency between Developers and users/investors.
  - This means, everyone can create their own cryptocurrency in their own kind of structure.
- It is free for all, IT Companies do develop their own blend of Blockchain that's why there's lot of Altcoins exist today and focuses on different fields.
- Competition between each Altcoins. The better the developers and support and marketing the better cryptocurrency they have to attract or invite investors to join their cryptocurrency community.
- Some Altcoins are just setting-up just to play with other  Altcoins, some are already have red tags and some were unable to get support and investors.

There are a lot of reasons behind why thousands of Altcoins are exist today because everyone aside from investors want to get rich quick. And most of us are thinking the same way but we tend having lack of experience and knowledge how to start or build our own cryptocurrency community.

There are so many companies that feels envy of Bitcoin's success so  that's why  they are creating their own Cryptocurrency Community because they're hoping to be the next Bitcoin in the future. Not all of them are for the profit, some are for advancement, technology and innovation. And they are thinking that entering cryptocurrency is a good idea of distributing the shares of their company by launching such ICO's.
