Nobody will tell you that ICO scam or really promising project. You should do your own researches. First of all find promising and simple ICO then read whitepaper several times after that do some research about team and advisors and their reputation.

Their are so many ongoing ico, am finding it hard to differentiate between scam and good ico, which one do you think is worth investing in?

experience and knowledge is vital to your choice. every choice you will take, should always be accompanied by knowledge and research. so I think that is the main capital when you choose an ico to invest.

I suggest you about the eidoo project which already raised a lot of the interest from the investors. The ico already ended but you can try to buy the token in the exchange site. This should be a good move for you.
That will be so difficult to determine about the best project because they are all come with the existing idea that means if their idea were not unique to solve something that really gives big impact in the crypto.
Many aspects must be determined to reach the best project.

99% of ICO's are either scam or crap. But once, which are discussed by public and have a ready made product/platform should be considered worth investing

Definitely there is much more chance of scam in selecting ico. You can follow this step that may help you to choose legit and good for investment.
1. Choose ICO
2. Collect their government registration details, from the origin country website and whether it is active or not and which members are officials.
3. After that verify company, consider there category, team strength, white paper, roadmap, project strength, social profile and activities, news about the company and ico, member’s profiles etc.
4. Who are the private investors.
5. Response time of the team.
6. Research about memeber’s previous experience.
7. Guess Excepted ROI of the investment.
8. Communicate with experienced and newbies investors of that project.
9. Collect personal reviews non-officially from investors.
10. Hope of the investors also let under consideration.
11. Collect data from ico rating platform.

But still choosing ico is a riskful  job. Do it with your own risk.

now everyone's profile is being published on the internet. For this reason, there is a good need to investigate who is on the team. First of all, this is very important. if you go into a project without any research, you will definitely lose.in the recent projects, really good and qualified people are now on the team.a project may not be really perfect. slow or too late to update or share information. but if the project is real, it will show itself on the market. just waiting for this day will win you. but you can not find any information about the team anywhere. definitely get away from there.

I believe that team is more than a half of success. You should check project members first. Find them social medias, make sure that it real accounts. After this check their whitepaper and community opinion and its intensity. At last talk with the team, ask them any question that you have.

You have to do your research. I always look for:-

- Team - The team needs to be good. Strong developers, good marketing team, experienced CEO's. I also feel that if they have more nationalities with different languages the better. People focus only on the dev team, but you need to look at the whole package

- Whitepaper - This is what the company is aiming to do, if this doesn't make sense, is too ambitious or is vague it is a bad sign.

- Social media and thread - If they are interactive, creating their own content and talking to potential investors. If they are very quiet, clearly buying articles / likes then it isn't the best. Also if they have been around for a while that is a bonus

- Concept - Do they need an altcoin in their system? is there a finite amount of them? If they do not need one, they are simply doing it to raise money.

This is a good starting point, and if you get through all these and you are interested in the project, join their bounty campaign. No rush to jump in if their ICO is legit.

This is good advice. If the members of the team won't talk to you directly, then something is definitely amiss.

Nobody will tell you that ICO scam or really promising project. You should do your own researches. First of all find promising and simple ICO then read whitepaper several times after that do some research about team and advisors and their reputation.
Why an ICO has to be simple? The ideas behind it better be big, or otherwise nobody would want to invest in it. Though you are right about simplicity in terms of possibility to describe the idea in a simple and understandable way. This will encourage people to buy the coin, for it will make them feel proud that they understood a complicated idea. Who knows, maybe segwit was chosen instead of bitcoin unlimited, because it was a lot more understandable.
As for promising icos, apart from whitepaper and dev team it is worth looking at partners and roadmap of the project.

Am currently getting few ICO on Linkedin every day. Mostly for pre-IcO since then they have te funds to launch a display marketing based campaign. Anyway to the point, most are useless, bad websites, terible ideas, no marketing budget, no concept, just forget it. Those are easy to spot.

I can suggest you Confideal, they will start ICO in November. I check it in my scam indicators, and I think this projects can't be scam. I hope, because i plan to invest in. Very understandable idea, good team and background, demo version of products..looks good

But we dont see ICO from cover , u must research about them.
Research about their team , and see the roadmap.
Research about some ICO for investment is important , because some ICO can be scam.
But i recommend u see ICO from this website , maybe you find a good reference.
This : https://www.coinschedule.com/
Hope this can help you
YES, and as i said I made a research and sure that Confideal isn't a scam, and good project to invest in

Actually very simple to know a project scam or not, see whether the project already has a finished product or not, that's is

You should definitely look into their linkedin profiles and see their abilities. That's one thing.
Another: you should probably review market's situation by asking questions like: "Do we really need thşs in our life?" These will help in general.

You should go and do the research. Everyone will tell you a different on to invest in, but you need to research it and look into the project. Scam is used a lot lately, but most are not scams and Fudders are everywhere. Do what you feel is right and research. If it all checks out then invest what you can afford to potentially lose.

Yes here is some ICO are scam, other side have many good ICOs project.
such as #Playkey #Spectre ,#Earth token  #Utrust #Home Token #CarTaxi etc.
I think if you want a successful project then you should attention for each project.
First you check and study ICO's project whitepaper, roadmap, ERC20 token approval, it's root or platform and team member details.
Then you will accept and invest this project ICO.

Not all ICO's are scam because almost ICO's are real and they work hard on their projects and to invest more money in the future.
Bit you must learn about ICO's, get more information and you must research the projects to avoid scam. Check the whitepapers and identify if their are more participants.

All ICO's are scams until they start being regulated Angry. Some kid with his apple mac is soon gonna create another Ico and scam lots of folks again... Angry
I am pretty sure you have been scammed by an ICO before. Grin Not all are scams anyway as so many of them are really doing pretty good right now. However, the regulation will only help those who always find it hard to make research on their own to find the best project they can invest in.

Most people today do not even research more on the project, once they just see the graphic design on the site and all the English, and plenty of promises, they just fall for it and that is just pretty bad for a reasonable investor to do.
