I would suggest you to put your investment in bitcoin and diversify your investment a bit to other prominent coins when the price is right,with the price of bitcoin just soaring new levels i am not sure whether it is the best moment to invest in bitcoin,if you are aware of these risks then you are good to go,always invest when the markets are down and that is my way to extract the maximum profit.

Better buy Bitcoins mate for you to decide wether or not you are going to invest in alcoins or ICO's. I mean make Bitcoin as your main investment and also make Bitcoin as a terminal for your investments because it is fully accepted in both altcoins and ICO's it's up to you what sub investment you want. If you bought Bitcoins when it's price at $4,800 I think you now have $1k+ worth of profits. . Buy now and harvest free Bitcoin gold after hardfork. Buying and holding Bitcoins is the safest way to invest so if I were you try it now before it's too late. But it always depends on your decission mate so choose your investment wisely.

trading can make a quick profit, but it is a very demanding job, it does not have to be an easy job, with the factors you mentioned above, I think anyone should Be careful if you want to become a trader.

This is my tip, don't invest in one coin only. Try to go to long term investments in coins. And when I say long term, it will long to 1 or more years to take profit on. Try investing on ripple and bitcoins.

I wouldn't recommend any mining stuff cause I not experience at all  , as for trading stuff:

Less risky path - solely on top 10 coins, diversify your portfolio on them and work with buy sell based on your knowledge among them, it's not hard to get information on such coins news and trends are widely discussed among communities and expect a steady return if you are okay with it. I might consider revenue sharing project in this path though but just realized most of their not well-established yet like COSS exchange.

Risky path - alts is the way to go, dig through ICOs and engaged trading in alt/btc pairs which you believe in regardless of the volume as some might just have few thousand traded over days, they have super high returns if positive news is spread, lovely place for p & d though just beware of your position

Super risky path - cloud mining, mixers, gambling, there is significant chances where your investment would just gone in days if you are not well-anticipated.

Mixing all of paths above, possible you are a full time player within cryptocurrencies and your 100k investment is significant though.

It really depends on how much risk you can handle and how active you want to be in trading..
Have you got enough hours in the week for trading, researching coins, keeping up with news etc.?
Or do you just want to invest and forget?

There is great potential to make huge, quick profits with altcoins but usually this requires you be actively trading, watching the markets daily, keeping up with news etc. As quickly as Altcoins can grow your profits, it can shrink them just as quickly too. Whereas Bitcoin is a steady grower. You can pretty much set and forget and you can be sure that in 12 months, your profits will be there.

Personally, I keep about 50% of my portfolio in Bitcoin & Ethereum, 30% in strong Alts like NEO, Lisk, Nem, Iota, Stratis, Ark, Qtum and about 20% on ICO's I've taken a gamble on like TenX, Vibe, REAL, PowerLedger etc..

I wouldn't recommend putting ALL your money into Altcoins.. That's a pretty huge gamble.

Whatever you invest in, make sure you take the time to learn about what you're doing so you can have the best chance of success.
Otherwise you're going to shit yourself and panic sell whenever the markets take a dip..

If you have a lot of money like 100k then try to diversify it and put it on bitcoin and other good altcoins that are best for long term like eth and other coins. If you want to do it in a right way then do some research first and don't trust other people's advice for what coin because you can't make sure things that it will become true and the best thing to do is to do research and to make yourself satisfied with your investment.

Trading requires that you know patterns and keep a constant look out of the news to foresee anything that could help or harm the price so it's a more active engagement and can be very profitable.

i suggest in 50% in bitcoin investment and the rest is invest for trading 50k is enough to invest in bitcoin and 50k is good enough for trading the plan is while your 50% in safe the other 50% is for growing faster because in trading your 50k is probably became it double in short day if you good in trading...when i said  50 50 because not all your trade is in good side beside you had encounter that you are in stock sometimes...

if you want to gamble, there is lots of btc to gain from altcoins. Bitcoin is solid investment though. If I had 100k, I would buy all bitcoin before the fork to get free money. Then, invest in a few ico's/altcoin's after the fork if you want too.
