hello friends,

The BCG scam site https://claimbitcoin.gold/

people are still not understanding about BCC and yet another BCG is trying to scam people's BTC..
i am just sharing my perceptions and raising doubts...
As per my knowledge BCC (Bitcoin Cash) is worth trusting to claim the free coins and sell them for a quick buck but what about the BCG (Bitcoin Gold) ?
There is no electrum wallet for BCG and the website asking people to enter thevBTC private keys directly onto their website to open an account or wallet of BCG  Huh
well i tried to enter my BTC private keys (encrypted) but guess what i only see one error message as shown below ..
so friends, after entering all my BTC privatekeys , i see only one message as shown above..
if anyone tried and claimed BCG Huh? not sure.. if not don't even think about it because i feel that this site is trying to collect everyone's BCG  Tongue

are you lost your mind, it's very dangerous if you insert your private key into any unknown website. The hard fork is schedule to accur at 25 october, it's still countdown. Why are you in such a hurry to get your bitcoin gold. I suggest you to immediately move your bitcoin to another wallet, before something that you don't want could happen.

I think that its a huge risk to enter your private keys in any of the websites.I'm really surprised to see that people's aim to claim some free coins had made them to even enter their their private keys in some websites.

Op,immediately transfer your bitcoins in to another new wallet.

I could even now remember the incident when a guy lost almost his 45 BTC when trying to claim free BCC coins. He just downloaded wallet from a fake website electroncash.com which was previously named as electrumcash.com instead of downloading wallet from the electrum's official website Electrum.org.

Now,i think that very soon we may hear such familiar stories now in the case of claiming free BTG coins.

Better stay away and be secure.

Thank you for sharing the scam website. Firstly, this scam website does not mean Bitcoin Gold is a scam coin.

Did you lost your Bitcoin since you reveal all your private keys to the scammers? I hope you didn’t. Please send all your Bitcoin to a safe wallet soon. Stay safe always.

You'd better move your Bitcoin to another wallet before they are steal your bitcoin. I see it's a phishing site and they can steal all the data you enter into the site. Once you enter a private key there, then be prepared to lose your money.
Hardfork is still not happening and will not happen until 25 October, just hold your bitcoin and wait for the time for BTG to appear.

I am tired of these scamsters. I remember a thread here a few months back, which was posted by an user who lost 45 BTC. He used electron cash.net instead of electron cash.com and all of his coins were stolen by the scammers. I don't know whether I should claim BTG or not. Are there any reliable wallets out there where we can claim BTG?

I don't suggest you to claim BTG, but I hold my BTC in the wallet of an exchanger (until now) that will distribute BTG to users.

You'd better move your Bitcoin to another wallet before they are steal your bitcoin. I see it's a phishing site and they can steal all the data you entered into the site. Once you put a private key there, then be prepared to lose your money.

yup i am being careful already , tested their website for public and now warning everyone. i din't lost ant of my coins but there is no BCG claim working even though their website saying people can claim.. i think they are stealing the BCG  Grin

They will not only steal BCG, but all the data we put into that website, haha Cheesy

this is your own mistake and you blame others for your stupidity, because the Bitcoin Gold doesn’t spread it, it is clear that they told us to save our money in the wallet but then because of your curiosity it eventually led you to the scam website. But with you spreading the news here, hopefully nobody else won’t follow your curiousity and hopefully the scammer will get bad luck.

if you see the website it may looks legit but the Bitcoin Gold has never released anything regarding to this site, so we should be more careful especially about our private keys, this is our money and we have to find out the risk we will face. and thank you for sharing this, maybe more people will be deceived if you didn’t post it here.

There is no electrum wallet for BCG and the website asking people to enter thevBTC private keys directly onto their website to open an account or wallet of BCG  Huh

you know, creating a website very easy. i can create one right now called "claimbitcoingold-verylegit.com" right now.

will you enter your private keys there also?

the bitcoin gold "website" is called btcgpu.org and i can not see any section there that is for you to "enter your private key".

a dozen other impostors exist out there though!
but I have to admit it, that scam website looks legit enough and like a pro, it will make clueless people be trapped, fortunately there are people like the OP who like to do a little experiment and happy to share

yes, really nice website , in fact better than the original official bitcoingold website and i am sure many might fall for this trap so i tried with all precautions and sharing the scam report on these bitcoin gold scams. hope it helped some of our BCT folks.

I agree, we must be more cautious on all sites telling that we can claim free BitcoinGold. Also never trust sites that want to get your private keys. We need to research more details before trusting them.

You will lose your bitcoins because you don't seem to be a very bright individual, as you have demonstrated by entering your private keys in some website.

I don't care from where that website is coming from. Even if it comes from the BGold twitter, and assuming BGold team is legit, their twitter could have been compromised to post a phishing website.

When it comes to claiming keys in forked chains, downloading the full node client is the only "safe" way to do it, assuming all forksoftware could potentially be a scam.

Im not touching BGold until the main node software has been audited, then I will just dump it, if the price is high enough, if not, I will not even bother.

I must agree with you. If you know enough to know what your private key is then give it away then you are a moron and it's your own fault. Maybe he also gves strangers the keys to his car to "hold"

Noone can get btcgold untill the 1st November as far as I can tell. Not those who had BTC on supported exchanges have some.

I concluded that the scam is only a wallet made by irresponsible people, but for Bitcoin Gold it will be a coin that will develop in the future, I'm sure Bitcoin Gold will be like Bitcoin Cash but it will be better development

Bitcoin gold itself is not a scam but many would try to use this situation and big desire of every bitcoin user to get free money so they will try to scam naive users. So be very careful which web sites and wallets you are using and what information you trust.
In situation like this when once and a while new "promising" coin appears scamers just can't wait to take their share. The more bitcoin related coins, the biger confusion on the market and biger chances to lose money if you are not careful enough.

That's why you need to transfer the coins first to another address/wallet before trying to claim it in order to avoid loss of funds. There wouldn't be any problem at all if you're able to do the recommeneded steps on claiming your Bitcoin Gold, and if you're familiar with the steps on claiming BCH then it's essentially the same thing. Also, you said it: there aren't any official wallets yet for the forked coin so why would someone in their right mind try to claim their share of the fork knowing that no official support is out yet?

thank you for the information, but you should find and then move your coin to another wallet before the contents of your wallet is lost, because I can see that there is phishing that could endanger your account. do not let you enter your private key to the application.
I suggest that you be more careful and keep it, also secure the contents of your wallet until BTG it appears.

I would be more wary of this from third party scam artist. the whole concept of bcg or whatever the ticker is feels scammly in itself, but i digress. the legit site has little incentive to pull this; this would be the one way to completely undermine the trust on something that barely has real legs to begin with (before you argue, observe the price, and stop yourself). there will be a grip of people that take advantage of the fact that folks will be entering keys trying to get these coins; be careful community, always be diligent about where you expose the plaintext of your private key. you cant come back from a mistake Wink

bitcoin gold is a new phase but that doesn't make bitcoin itself invalid, it has been noted and acknowledged by the bitcoin and blockchain framework. so i can say that the bitcoingold is no scam.

Is it a scam? There is no well to tell until it is too late if you give out those keys.  It is up to you if you want to trust a dev group of strangers with your money. If a total stranger approached you in your bank and said that the bank was moving(say that it is moving) and that they are collecting the deposits for the day to run to the new location, you would never give them your money, but I guarantee that people will here and then be amazed of something happens.
