Is it possible to use bitcoin like offline currency?

Few days ago a friend asked me this questions. But i cannot understanding that how to i give him answer. At last i said him that, bitcoin is an online currency. Only this currency used in online marketplaces. It is not possible to use it in offline marketplace like offline currency.

But what is your best answer of this question?

Well I think it is impossible to happen. Why ?
Simply because bitcoin are done thru online.
And in order for you transac usig bitcoin your going to online first.
So it means it really impossible for bitcoin to deal with some offline businesses.
Unless bitcoin will upgrade their services to the pointbthat it can be use offline.

You have said it right that bitcoin can't be use as an offline currency the same with fiat / cash money. Transactions are needed to be confirmed and it's only possible through online, if we try to send bitcoin offline that will fail as there's a need for everyone to connect through internet and the only thing that you can do offline with your bitcoin is by storing it through offline.

In my opinion, it is not possible to use bitcoin and all other crypto coins like that of offline currencies. my opinion can not be used to spend bitcoin units in the offline market ,bitcoin has not been designed like gold that is easily redeemed in the offline market ,tell your friends bitcoin can not to spend on offline ,however can be used over to internet ,dont worry bitcoin growing rapidly in the future may be possible to shop in the offline market

I also think that internet is highly needed to have a transaction on Bitcoin system. Because it served a way for us to deal with transaction for one person or business to another. But if you are pertaining to holding or managing your Bitcoin, there is way you could hold your Bitcoin in an offline way but not as an offline currency.

of course, it is possible but before we can use bitcoin like offline currency, we need to make sure that there is any local store that accepting bitcoin and we need to check also if there is an internet connection because bitcoin depends with the internet. if everything is easy to find, then we can use bitcoin to pay something in real life and we don't have to use the money if we want to go shopping. we only need to carry wallet from android phone and pay with scanning the code.

Which things you are talking about? When you are going to buy something from other country, both bitcoin and real money works in the same way IMO. You need to send money/bitcoin to the buyer and obviously you need to pay the transaction fees. I dont get what you mean by bitcoin is free of these things because I dont see any free things when you are doing bitcoin transaction.

It should all fit with the existing conditions, if we really want Bitcoin to be used as a currency it would be impossible to do offline, Bitcoin has been designed and working with a centralized system so we all have to do data to the server when it sends bitcoin. While as you say that Bitcoin can be offline when we store it in the wallet offline and we do not do the delivery of Bitcoin (Hold Bitcoin). It is a choice and a sure thing that when we want Bitcoin to buy an item or do any Bitcoin shipping transactions then offline way of working we can not apply.

Actually it's possible to use bitcoin in offline marketplace. The problem is are there any place that accept bitcoin in real life as the payment ? Because it's really rare especially in my country. I don't know about other country but there is no marketplace or shops that accept bitcoin here, maybe it will happen in the future.

It is not really possible to use bitcoin offline to make transactions. Because we all know that bitcoin really involves the use of the internet. But you can actually exchange it first to your country's currency and cash it out through some banks and use it for transactions you want. That is how it goes in our country.

The main point is that in many countries bitcoin is still not acceptable and you will have to sell your bitcoins for cash to buy something of your need. If you want to use your bitcoin to buy something online then you can use your bitcoin but if you want to buy something in your local markets then it is not possible to use bitcoin like offline currency because it is not offline currency, it is a digital currency and you will have to use it online.
