i prefer to buy bitcoin because it is more tried and tested unlike on the ICO if you do not know what you are investing on it it can be a big fatal or a waste on  time but on bitcoin you just need to buy it and wait for you profit and thats it

I posted this thread because I  have money right now and was thinking to like invest!
I wanted to know is it is beneficial to invest in new ICO, or should I just buy some BTC and wait for the value to increase.
I suggest you buy some BTC at first , then choose some good icos to invest too, don't ask me which are good icos , I am confused on this too Cool

You can segregate your investment like 50% in bitcoin, 50% in any ICO. When you invest in ICO, you need to research completely and take a call. To avoid disappointment, you may split your 50% investment in to 3 different ICO's like 15% + 15% + 10% like wise.

I will go for Icos. Especially, if team was from asia, low hard cap and working on adopting new things to the crypto-currency world. They have too much potential to grow.

That depends on the amount you got in your hand. If its less than 0.5btc approximately then you should buy 0.3btc and invest 0.2 btc in atleast 5 icos.

You can do both. This way you can minimize your risk. If you have invested in Bitcoin already, you should keep it, because Bitcoins is a little slow right now. In the same time you can search for a promising ICO. There are some very promising ICO's, but you have to do your own investigation before committing your money.

You do not have to choose just one. There is nothing wrong to have hybrid strategy. I personally divide my portfolio to half. I trade bitcoin with one half and invest interesting ICOs with the other half.

You could try to join ICO With potential, it can make your money 10× gain or more. Just be careful on picking ,read the white paper and the background of people behind it because some ICO are scam and might lose your money. Choose the very unique ico platform this might be the one that could finished successfuly.

Someone say: "don't put all your eggs in one basket".
It means that you need invest your money in different currencies, not only BTC. It's a good rule. I recommended to do same.

I think the current time is very potential for ICO investment if you have enough knowledge to be able to analyze and evaluate potential ICO. Because if you invest in potential ICO then your money will be x5, x10 times in the future. But to invest in an ICO effectively you need to have good knowledge to analyze the ICO project whether it has potential or not. You can find the development team and the ICO project advisory board. Who are they? Which ICO project is in which country ?, What is the project that uses blockchain technology ?, Which company is behind the project? If you find out that the information you are likely to participate in the ICO scam project is very low

you have a good experience because you can make money from the ico and I guess you can select what is a good ico between many of them. I think after you can make the money, you can buy bitcoin because if you stay with the tokens and not buying bitcoin, you don't know when the price will increase. besides that, if you buy bitcoin, you can make another profit and of course, your money will increase more if bitcoin price increase later.

Investing an ICO is good but before doing it you must do a research for first on the ICO you wish to invest.Must have enough knowledge on the project as well as the team so that it wont be a waste of money and time.Buying bitcoin is good as well, less risky but must also observe the chart first on the flow of bitcoin , on when is the right time to buy more of it to earn huge profit.Actually all the decisions are yours on how you're ready to take the risk and knowledgeable enough on investing.

The newer someone is to learning an industry - the more conservative they should be.  A little bit of diversification could go a long way right now given that you could have a huge home run that makes up for whatever disaster you invest in.  At the end of the day - if you're looking for an investment - I would look at what they're really all about.

Do they have a product?
What's the leadership team like, do they have any business experience?
What's the state of that particular industry - you don't want to invest in the last buggy whip maker or the next pets.com.

It's always a gamble, but when in doubt - pick something that has a very good brand awareness ... something in the top 10 in terms of market cap.  If other coins have to build off of a particular coin - that's a pretty good thing.

BTC is a steady investment which will take time to grow.

If you are looking for very HIGN returns - invest in ICO's - I have bought at 0.02 USD and sold at 0.89 USD in a matter of weeks on carefully researched ICO's.

I agree this statement. ICO's can give real PAYDAY.
If you want to have a safer investment go with BTC.
But if you want to experience the Crypto massive pumps
read the background of the new ICO's & if it looks good to you,
then you know the drill, LET'S GO!  Cool Cool Cool Cool

many ICOs are failing, before you want to invest in ICO I recommend to check all aspects of ICO before you dive to invest. ICO may have potential and make a profit well but now many ICOs are failing and our investment is lost.but if you want to invest in Bitcoin it's good because Bitcoin is number one in Cryptocurrency world so the risk is quite small.Back again to you want to invest in Bitcoin or Altcoin all the decisions in your hands. all have their respective risks.

If it is good ICO yes you can invest in ICO. But investing in ICO is risky you  could lose all your investment.
So it is good you do a research before investing or better still you can invest in other altcoins. or if you want to stay safe
you can buy btc and hold it for a very log time. so it depends on your choice.
