I have to agree with OP. I saw so many scrypt/scrypt-jane coins that it's worse than SHA256 coins.

Scrypt is technologically superior to SHA-256 as far as cryptos go. There's no reason to use SHA-256 anymore.

Bitcoin can't just pack up its shit and move over to a new encryption algorithm. That's just not possible. BFL/Avalon make sha256 ASICs solely because bitcoin is based on sha256.. and bitcoin happens to be where the money is.

I'm sure that went over your head though, you appear to be mentally challenged.
