I would say Myetherwallet.com o you can buy a Ledger nano S and use it as a cold wallet. Cold wallets are the best option to store your coins noone cant access a cold wallet.

MyEtherWallet (MEW) is the easiest and the most familiar for me as beginner. Very easy to use. And I'm still considering Metamask and Parity.

Best and easy to use ethereum wallet is myetherwallet. U can send any erc20 coin on ur MEW address. But u have to be very very careful in use of this wallet. Never ever give private keys of your wallet to anybody anywhere. As many airdrops ask for private keys. Never give them private keys else they will steal all your money.

No, My etherwallet is an online wallet which is used through its website. If you want to use a desktop wallet, I think there are other options.

For me the best ethereum wallet is MEW or myetherwallet. It is compatible with the ERC20 based tokens and you can store it there.  It also has an advantage because there are so many tokens that you can store in myetherwallet or mew. Beware of phishing site of MEW because once you log on your private key to that phishing site , you are doomed. So be aware and protect your private key.

in the market more wallets are available for coins so in that ledger nano s is the best wallet. trezor, exodus, jaxx, mist, my ether wallet, coinbase and keepey those all are good and secure wallets. if you have to choose from that and use. most of the people trying to hardware wallets because hardware wallets has more security and we have to carry any where.few wallets are available all coins kept in one wallet only. so try to take one of the best wallet. from that. in my point of view trezor and ledger nano s is the best wallet. few wallets are software wallets and few wallets are hardware wallets.

I'm surprised nobody talked about eidoo. Easy to use, friendly interface, quick to access and convenient since it's a phone app.
MyEtherWallet is also good, probably the best for users who want to stick with web-based wallet instead of an app.

Myether wallet is not the best wallet for ETH because it is more prone on phishing. There are so many phishing website of MEW right now, If you mispell the url of MEW then there will be a counterpart scamp site. Having a trezor is the best way to store eth. Because you will need to login your trezor first before you open your MEW which is safe unlike manual copy/pasting of private key to the site.
