For some reason my ALQO wallet on Ubuntu started core-dumping while starting up today. I can not get it to open. Any advice?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Hi, I got lucky off this alt run and wanted to try out a masternode. I've never bought one before and from what I've read this seems really easy to set up. Still worth it to set one at at this time? What is the ROI?

How should I go about making a back up in the unfortunate event that my computer has a hardware failure? I have a masternode running 24/7 atm and would like to be able to rest easy knowing it's safe if my computer packs it in. Do I use the Bip38 tool? Or will the backup.dat files be enough to recover my ALQO? This is my first masternode and I am not very tech savvy so I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question. Thanks!

Also, loving ALQO btw! great payouts, super stable and great community with organic growth. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for your quick response, where exactly can I find it in the wallet? Or is there a command I can use in debug console?
FYI the 'Settings > Encrypt Wallet' is unresponsive, not sure if that means its already encrypted and I need to decrypt it first somehow.

EDIT: e.g. something like this?:

To export a private key from your Bitcoin-Qt / Bitcoin Core client:

Launch your Bitcoin client
Click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
Click on 'debug window'
Select the 'console' tab
If your wallet is protected by a passphrase (i.e. you have to enter a passphrase before you can send) unlock it by typing
walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
dumpprivkey [your Bitcoin address here]
This will return the private key which will start with the number 5

Since Coinsmarkets.com has got a lot of issues right now and the voice of the community wants another exchange we are now up again to listen to your considerations.
You want a special exchange for alqo ?

Fill this form : https://goo.gl/forms/a2HJ0y47bWTdysS12

There will then be a vote with the most named exchanges. This survey will be going for 48 hours from now.

Thanks for listening to the Community for these kind of decisions  Smiley

We are gathering the vote right now.
We know the issues and we will try our best to get on another exchange this month.

Tomorrow (05. January) at 20:00 UTC @Kaan "KainLTD" Hamarat will make the live stream on youtube! He will answer the questions you have submitted via Reddit and per Email! Link to the official alqo channel : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyINubLdLyQtN2qCOvjw7kQ

Here you can check for yourself:
https://masternodes.online/
http://mnrank.com/

ATM it is at arround 151%

And YES! It is still very much worth investing. 2018 will be a big year for ALQO IMHO.

ANNOUNCE:

We will stop the Exchange survey now due to high priority to get on another exchange since coinsmarkets.com is no longer reliable. At this time, I would recommend using stocks.exchange. Dear miners, if you tend to sell your ALQO please try out stocks.exchange in the meanwhile, to get there some volume up! It's a reliable exchange and withdrawal/deposit times are pretty short!

As the vote is over I would like to share the results:

More than 100 persons voted for cryptopia
More than 80 persons voted for binance
More than 50 persons voted for bittrex
More than 35 persons voted for Kucoin
More than 20 persons voted for yobit
More than 10 persons voted for coinexchange.io

These are the top6 of the vote.

Knowing the results was the easy part now let's go into a deep analysis.

Cryptopia is out of our reach. So a lot of people think cryptopia is cheap to list, it's not. They ask for 5.000.000 DOT (thats their own coin) and 5.000.000 DOT is around 100.000$. So some people suggested to sell the 10 MN premine, we could do that, but on the other hand there is no chance to get the 5M Dot for that 100k price, since if we would like to buy, we would have to buy for a much higher price. So in the end I bet we would need to have at least 200.000$ in order to get on cryptopia.

Binance was already contacted a while ago and they did not respond. We might again do a community listing on this, but the chances are pretty small, since other cryptocurrencies with a bigger community are triying the same.

Bittrex was also contacted 1 month ago. We might try it again, but also here are the chances pretty small.

We have applied on KuCoin yesterday. We will make it public today on twitter, to spread the word more.

We have applied, 5 times on yobit. We payed their fee, but never got contacted again. The paying fee is no longer locked and we can withdraw it at anytime. (In the meantime we got scammed in a fake yobit telegram channel, since yobit does not have a official telegram). It was just 0.02 BTC but still, be careful when using the "yobit telegram". )

Coinexchange.io might be the easiest and fastest next exchange. We will now investigate the price and contact them as soon as possible

It is a pitty that Binance does not communicate, their interface and deposit/withdrawal times are above average.

Don't worry about your coins, they are uprading their servers due to high amount of server requests according to their statement. I hope that they finish scaling up tonight.  Smiley
