I don't support the idea to mine cryptocurrencies on smartphones, which is easily to destroy your phones.
In addition, mining like this is likely un-profitable approach.

Let's just hope that there are reasonable people in Apple who can understand the difference. Those guys have delayed the iOS wallet long enough with their stupid policies.

I think you dont know where ur talking about.

You are talking about mining programs like minergate for the smartphone, they heat up ur battery and will destroy ur smartphone now or later.

Electroneum dont really mine on ur smartphone, it just want you to keep the app online and that's it.

Whatsapp take more resources and battery then the Electroneum app. My Galaxy S8 get easy 2 days on 1 batteryload with ETN app on (without etn app active i get a few minutes more batterylife..).

So much for decentralized GPU mining when you can buy hashrate on nicehash to conduct 51 % attack if they want. Lol

They promised we (the miners what were active the first x blocks after the fork) would get the rewards, but they say nothing anymore about this?

Indeed, and because the transactions are working i dont know what the reason is (the stupid thing is, nobody is talking about it anymore, nanopool dont say a word about this anymore and ETN also don't.).

I was mining for helping and ofcourse i was mining for this rewards, we helped, we did our job.. And the rewards? Nothing

Well in the past 6-7 months i bought ETN. But i'm happy this is not my main coin haha, people are losing thousands, thousands of euro's / dollars on ETN. That's sad, from the other side, this can be a prepare (dump) before the pump. Richard is speaking soon (few hours to go) on summt.

Etn is forked 2 weeks ago from cryptonight to cryptonight_v7 (also know as MoneroV7) to be asic resistant. Also some small but important fixes are added.

Iphones are not even smart phones. I don't know of any real techie that uses them.

The fork that ETN has made is completely legit, indeed it was done to escape from ASICs that had taken over the network, making hashrate skyrocket high and making it more vulnerable to a 51% attack.

Maybe your friend is talking about another fork called ETNX (Electronero), which has raised some concerns because of its elevated premine.

I agree with JoenNL here. It's a nice innovative idea that could work out pretty good, actually the only reason i believe in the Electroneum project to be honest.

The move from Apple and doesn't really matter other than the bad publicity it gets of course. But from a market share point of view i think it shoud have only a minor impact actually.

True, i will never dump my etn and totally not for this price. I'm patient, damn i am to long in this cryptoworld haha, patient is the key to many things in the cryptoworld.

That's the problem with all Anti Asic forks actually.

I'am not saying it's bad to have a given ideology, it's up to everybodies own project where when why to go.
But for sure Anti-Asic forks have 2 logical impacts:

- price falls, no matter that the gpu miner community hardly believes price will raise due it. It's simply not true. As soon as you take away Mining Hashpower from a project you take a way value from the project. Easy as that. I know, it's not a popular argument for gpu miners but it's just like that.

- About 99% of the coins could be potentially 51% attacked with nicehash traffic for the price of some dollars... Only Ethereum is a pure GPU coin that can not be attacked with 51% traffic from nicehash and other hashrate renting services. To compare, there are 16 coins relying on Asics that can not be attacked with 51% hashpower from Nicehash.... This leaves about 1.500 coins/projects (no matter Asic or gpu) open for 51% for literally 1US$ cost 51% attacks.....
