Quick update and request for feedback:

I'm getting ready to push out a press release on PR Web. The press release is below and if you have any suggestions to improve it let me know Smiley

Title:

ROI Coin Brings Cryptocurrency Mining To The Masses

Summary:

Although many people are curious about mining cryptocurrency they lack the technical skills and expensive specialized equipment that is required. Until now that is... ROI coin has uniquely solved this dilemma by providing a way for anyone with an ordinary computer to mine ROI coins with the click of a mouse. This could be a game changer since it places cryptocurrency mining within reach of nearly anyone around the globe.

Body:

The founder of ROI coin had been mining, buying and trading in a wide variety of cryptocurrencies and concluded that something very important was missing and that was simplicity. How could crypto coins expect to experience mass adoption when they had over complicated matters to the point that they were out of reach for ordinary folks.

The problems with cryptocurrencies:

1.   Mining is costly and complex requiring technical skills and expensive equipment.
2.   Mining is too competitive to be productive on ordinary computers.
3.   Interest bearing coins require large balances to compete for rewards.
4.   Interest bearing coins require you to keep a wallet running and unlocked to get rewards.
5.   Interest bearing coins do not pay any set or regular amounts that one knows beforehand.
6.   Interest bearing coins can’t be stored offline and still receive payouts.
7.   Interest bearing coins forfeit their payouts while sitting in exchanges waiting to be traded.
8.   Interest bearing coins do not offer an option to term deposit for increased payouts.

The solutions provided by ROI coin:

1.   Mining functionality is simplistically built into the wallet and turned on or off with a mouse click using a typical computer.
2.   Mining is within reach of the masses and nearly anyone can acquire mined coins at this time.
3.   Interest payouts are not dependent upon your quantity of coins and your balance does not have to compete with anyone else’s balance to receive its full interest payout.
4.   Interest payouts occur every few minutes regardless of your wallet status, so your wallet can be locked and offline and you will get your full reward.
5.   Interest payouts are a set and constant amount. Whether standard payout or term deposit payout you will know how much it is from the beginning.
6.   You can safely store your coins in cold storage offline and you will still receive your full reward.
7.   By trading on a decentralized exchange your coins will receive full reward while waiting for the trade to occur.
8.   Coins can be term deposited for 2 days up to 1 year for increased interest rewards.

The results thus far:

ROI coin is growing a large and diverse user base and is quickly marching around the globe. As of the time of this writing the community of the coin is dispersed into every continent on earth and is actively engaged in mining the coin. Also, reception of the coin has been very positive, and users have communicated their fondness of the variety of unique and desirable features.

What does the path forward look like?

ROI coin has an aggressive road map that is designed to provide forward and upward momentum for the coin. To date, the development team has been faithful to complete every promised road map task before the deadline. As the coin continues to gain more supporters and as word of mouth spreads there is a hopeful expectation that the coin will experience an increase in popularity and value.

How can you learn more?

The best place to begin your research of ROI coin is at the website which is located at: https://roi-coin.com. You should also take a moment to check out the diverse social community which can be found at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Plus, Instagram, Bitcointalk, Discord and Slack. Be sure to look over the road map and white paper to get a feel for the design of the coin and the planned future steps.

Last but certainly not least, please always be aware that all cryptocurrencies come with various risks and you should never invest any money that you can’t afford to lose!

@ DisasterFaster : Excellent post. It covers most of the things nicely.

this is just my opinion but what I love mostly about roi coin is that you don't have to spend a penny no initial investment required to get the coins. Its free and for everyone Smiley

It seems that more and more antivirus applications are recognizing wallet or miners as virus/malware/suspicious behaviors.

Maybe someone knowledgeable can advise why is that. What is so specific making it a problem, use of CPU resources?

There is maleware/virus out there containing cpu miners, thus (mis)using your computing ressources to mine cryptocurrency at the advantage of those who created the maleware. Thus your antivirus software might be triggered by the signature of some cpu miners.

Just add an exception and you should be fine.

Pretty common one right now is the Monero Mining virus. Unexpected people clicking on clicks / getting phished. Pretty smart idea for the people doing it. Creating a Cluster pool and everything. Especially Monero since it's not traceable.  I think most of these miners are running in the background and most task manager applications won't pick it up but CPU performance will be degraded. Using process hacker is the best tool. If you need to exclude that .exe, windows defender will not allow the exception. Try excluding the folder its in. If that doesn't let you, use Windows Powershell and force it.

Why the decline?
  • Google & YouTube declined advertising.
I can still see many Cryptocurrency advertisement in Youtube and Google.

All I can tell you is at Facebook I submitted a post to be boosted and it was flat declined.
At Google I called them and was told I can't pay for pay per click or video ads for the coin.
At Twitter I had no problem at all and ads are running right now.

If you're CPU mining ROI coin we just released a new tutorial video that will show you how to increase your hash rate while saving energy at the same time!

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Bx6SIG6_70

Many thanks to TheRaster for putting these awesome tutorial videos together!

Hello and thank you for the trick!. With this I have got managed to work six processors to mine, something that before did not let me and then was limited to using only five
Now I want to share with all you what I consulted to set affinity via batch, it's achieved by adding to the beginning of the line where the miner is configured as follows:

Code:
start /affinity XX yourminer.exe -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://.....

The 'XX' are used to choose the processors they want to configure. It's a hexadecimal number that is assembled from a binary number:

For example, assuming that someone has an 8-core processor:
-If you want to run the first 7 processors (cpu0, cpu1, cpu2, cpu3, ..., cpu6), the binary number would look like this: 01111111
-if you want to run the first 6 processors, the binary number would look like this: 00111111 (cpu0, cpu1, cpu2, cpu3, ..., cpu5)
-The first 5: 00011111
-The first 4: 00001111
-The odd processors (cpu1, cpu3, cpu5, cpu7): 10101010
-Even processors (cpu0, cpu2, cpu4, cpu6, just like in the video): 01010101
and so as you want to configure

After you have that binary number, the next thing I said before is to pass it to hexadecimal. You can use a calculator for that purpose, or if you want to do it manually, all you need to do is split the binary number into groups of 4 digits, so if the binary of the even processors is 10101010, then 0101 0101 is left. Remove the zeros to the left surplus of each group, for the example would be 101 101 and finally look for those two numbers the equivalent in hexadecimal (table of binary conversion to hexadecimal here: https://www.calculadoraconversor.com/binario-a-hexadecimal. So if 101 = A, then the 'XX' for this case would be 'AA'

In the end, the line would be like this to permanently use the even processors in an 8-core PC:
Code:
start /affinity AA yourminer.exe -a hodl -o stratum+tcp://.....

Thankyou for your added info there 2DRacox....

However I my self have done this. Its something that just dont seem to want to work with the hodl cpu miner. Its not a problem I dont mind setting the affinity manual in the way I shown in the vid. Its just down to the windows groups in regards to the cpu sockets. Sadly the commands for windows cpu sockets dont work in the way they should. The commands go in and stay but they dont do anything for this miner. Its not a problem. So dont worry,

I just hope that the guys who code the miners such as Wolf0 take note of this vid and see there is much room to improve there code.

Raster.
