Yes, ICO is indeed a free money for scammers devs out there. I love project/s that has value, backup with a great team and a good market. We need to investigate to turn our back on fake ICO's. There are so much out there so be very careful.

I think it all depends on the project and the team that suits ICO. There are many projects with goo team, that do not do ICO's just for the free money. Of course there are a lot of scammers, but that does not mean that 100% ICO is only free money ..

I agree...so many ICO listings are posted every single day. As long as people just put their money in without investigating the company (read the white paper, research the team)...then scammers will continue to take people for their money. I will say some airdrops can be profitable. I received 250 free Polymath tokens from airdrop. Since polymath never held an ICO, the tokens were selling at a little over $2.00. I wanna say around $225.00. I made a quick $550.00. Who knows what they could be worth in a year or two. I wouldn't dismiss the money you can make from bounty and airdrop. Sure some of the airdrops are crap. Just look at the company doing the airdrop and see if you like their project (or better yet if you think it will be successful). For anyone new that may read this...never give your private keys to anyone. This includes airdrops! They do not need your private keys to send you crypto.

Do not see scammers everywhere: Some ICOs make money because the project was good,but not only,because the project was transformed in a good "thing" making money. |

If you hit the correct pot you win and if you hit mud you will be in trouble. In Crypto field or not, when you are going to do an investment, there are lot of things you should do. Take your time, ICOs display messages to urge you to invest, but do not get caught by their traps. There are lot of scammers doing huge campaigns and looks very promising at a glance. You have to take your own risk.

You are absolutely right, ICO is actually a way or an opportunity to become an investor. That way you can benefit by joining ICO which is certainly not all ICO. I suggest to invest in Policypal Network. |

How about you, YES OR NOR ? to be honest, not all ICOs are used to get free money, ICO is on hand to help those who are developing projects that they will make and we as participants or investors give them capital and they will benefit us. |

Investors are getting smarter. Scammers need to create a truthful website and advertising. In addition, fraudsters risk: they need seed money; not always compensated costs; and they can be found.

Yes, your alligation is not far from when you check the outcomes of so many ICO today you will come to conclusion that many of them are just full of shit project which will not see the light of the day. But that withstanding there are some of them are really promising.

not all new ico projects are scam, many successful ico projects even reach hardcap, and after entering the market the price can exceed the ico price, obviously the investor will get a profit here, and we just have to determine the right ico project

For those shitty people who want to scam/steal/swindle people out of their hard earned money it is definitely a form of a Ponzi method. However, that is not the core or true purpose of an ICO. An ICO from my view is a method to form a community of people in support of something they truly want to see happen in the world. It is kind of like kickstarter. Someone has a great idea and can now finance it without having to deal with government and big bank policy. Individuals from around the world can come together to bring something into the world that is truly worth being here and helps our lives and hopefully the nature world as well. The money side of it is the just the fuel for the engine that drives that cause to its reality. This is why you should only join an ICO after you know who (Humans) is running the project, and if you agree with the project and want to see that, use that in your life. As already said hundred times most of ICOs are scams, but there are few here and there which are really good projects. The research (developers, roadmap, etc.) here is the key, but is not the insurance that the developers will not decide to take the money and go. Long development, good idea and developers, clear roadmap are the good signs of the future of the coin. The best way to earn some money is to invest in a few ICOs and even if some fail, you will still get some money out of your investment.

Yes in our generation the ICO is the new hint for type of investment. It promotes fast transaction without papers and less manual procedures.
All things with the ICO are legit so you don’t have to worry about the scam that may occur because they have license to operate.
