ICO is not a scam but the people behind it is the real scam. They use ICO to raise an illegal crowd funding and will run your money when their behind you. It's hard to determine which is which as many ICO are good in deceiving people. They make their ICO more promising and use known team so they can call themselves legit.
Yeah maybe there still some ICO that are legit but it's really hard to find like you're looking a needle from a crowd in an open field concert.

Its yes, through ico you can earn free money, all you net to is do there task and the only profit is time. But for your own sake, make sure that the ico you are joining is legit, take some research to that coin, because many of those ico is fake

ICO is not a place to get free money because here we have to do a long process first we can get money that is by investing first you have to invest with bitcoin because bitcoin bank is your ICO still run the business with post submission ..... so there is no term to get money for free on ICO.

For me Ico is not a new way in making free money because Ico is the coins distribution to fund developer and if you want to earn from that,  you must to invest your money first. So is not making free money but it is making money.

Learn carefully ICO you are going to articipate. I participated in ICO that has short term and live project. Don't invest in ICO with long project excecution till 2020. If you invest there, one will forget about the project and leave it. The token in the market will dump and you will not make money. OP maybe referring to the ICO's scam projects  there was a lot of ICO's that appears to be legit but in the end  they will just run with the money they collected from the investors , that's why OP says it was free money.

Well yes, 90% ICO are fake only. The sole purpose is to earn and run away. And the best thing is you don't even have to give any fiat or real coin to your investors. Just take their money, toss them some random erc token and disappear. But that being said, there are many projects which use ICO to gather funds and develop real projects like golem, lunyr, decentraland, steemit etc. So all ICOs are not bad, but most are!!

I think it is hard to say who is the scammer, some people are like professional in getting free money out of AIRDROP, but actually it is small profit, I think people should pay more attention to good ICO and stick to it.

In a way yes, some of ICO projects are created to gather money only. You must be very attentive and cautious when investing. Recently German Federal Office of Financial Supervision (BaFin) forewarned all people that ICOs are absolutely vulnerable to fraud, and that investors risk too much dealing with suspicious projects.However, good ICOs also exist!

It's not free money and not a scam. At least not all of them. Your argument is kinda right though, considering that many are, but it would be unfair to say that all of the projects are scams. There are definitely many out there that are trying to make a quick buck, so you have to be very vigilant and do your homework, as no one else can guarantee that the project will succeed or fail except of you. It's tricky to notice a scam, but you have to keep to some basic rules, such as reading whitepapers, understanding the concept and ideas and generally talking a lot with the community about the team and the project itself. Usually you will find people that know more things about you and that's the best way to learn about developments unless you are directly involved with that project.
