Bitcoin2, fast, zero protocol if you wish to make private, untraceable transactions. It`s decentralized, really low fees, and after all that it`s POS, you can stake any amount in your wallet and you will receive some BTC2 for that. This is a very potential coin, I`m staking for some time and trading with that coin on Crex24, they are listed there for now, but they are working hard to be listed on couple more exchanges.

.
.BIG WINNER!.

For me there are only these altcoins there:

Monero: Signature ring technology with a big community
Zcoin: Sigma + Lelantus technology with a large team of researcher and developer in crypto anonymity
Beam: Wimble Mimble Technology with a big development team and huge progress

Zcash: Good technology (Zk-Snarks / Starks) but implemented failed for several reasons. Personally I will never invest on this project
Grin: Wimble Mimble technology with a big hype potential but inflation is exaggerated. It can be a good investment in a few months / years but I much prefer Beam which has a maximum supply established

After promising projects and that I like because I think anonymity is a permanent hype in cryptos currencies:

- Piratechain (ARRR): Default Zk-Starks technology + DPOW protection (full anonymity)
- Veil: project that wants to implement "Sonic", a recent update of Zeroknowledge with default anonymity too.

Many privacy coins will be killed by upcoming regulations from FATF. Look for example on upbit, this korean exchange is delisitng all privacy coins.
These regulations will survive only truly decentralized coins. Like Bitcoin, you can´t really ban Bitcoin, you see? Smiley

Good that we have AtomicDex on our Mobilephones, a true AtomicSwaps Dex without any Middlemen, no Limits, no FATF, no kyc, no country restrictions.

And we have already listed Dash on this Dex - soon we will see Zcash & ARRR  Cool

And in your opinion what will be the effect of the privacy coins ban?

Firstly the creation of a black market .. and secondly it will increase the price of privacy coins because many people will want to buy. Private life is a right. And then the regulation will allow the privacy corners because they will also need them. I do not worry about the price and value of privacy coins!

Zcoin does not use coinjoin but Sigma .. and soon Lelantus, one of the best anonymity protocols .. This type of error is grotesque. It looks like this diagram is made by an amateur

Beam. They're making smart moves for compliance purposes. Will be interesting to see privacy coins future

I still have fond memory of Veil which is almost a by product of pivx for its total privacy and obscurity but it format really get as much credit as it deserved. In terms the contrasting techs and practicality, I will go for zcash and grin. Oh, I must say, these two made me some serious cash too in the past

Many cryptocurrency users very highly appreciate the possibility of using anonymous cryptocurrencies, which give the user really high opportunities for anonymity and security.  But given everything that happens around the cryptocurrency market, I have some doubts about the prospects of these coins.  we can recall the fifth directive (5AMLD), which entered the European Union at the beginning of 2020, which is aimed at combating money laundering obtained by criminal means and which they eat to hide without taxation.  And also it is worth mentioning that companies such as Chainalysis and  Crystal are already working, whose activities are aimed at looking for scammers in the cryptocurrency market.  Based on this, it becomes clear that new conditions of activity will be applied to all cryptocurrency users, namely, verification of personality.  I believe that with an appropriate development of events in the future, anonymous cryptocurrencies may lose their relevance.  although this is only my guess, but still it can be.

Your comments are interesting. Veil is not a by-product of Pivx, but on the contrary, it is clearly an improvement in Pivx. Besides, the creator chose to leave Pivx, because the level of anonymity of Pivx was not good and the choices made by masternode governance did not suit him. Zcash, clearly, is not my top choice. If I had to choose a "real" anonymous project based on Zk-Snarks, I would choose Piratechain. The best, without any possible comparison (Total anonymity by default and complete security thanks to Komodo). Grin is very interesting but I have a preference for Beam. Grin's infinite inflation is a big flaw for me. I prefer a deflationary project. Then there is Zcoin, one of the best anonymity development teams, with the arrival of Lelantus soon. It is a team recognized by the anonymity experts.

I don't know much about privacy coins, but if I have to, I always choose between Dash and Monero, I think these two coins are the best in terms of privacy.

Dash is not an anonymous crypto, everyone knows that. It is a mix like we can do with external software with Bitcoin ...

So many exists already. Why build more and no project with 1% emission inflation 100 years?  We have no ideas what will work 100 years form now. Best to know is to try it. If 1000 coins will have zero emission 100 years form now and none 1%. And we would then find out that that 1% emission inflation is needed, then all this cryptocurrency movement would be a huge fail.

I think privacy coins are very important in crypto, and hold the true nature and intention of this space. I believe that 2018 will be a big year for privacy based projects.

If you had $10k to invest, where would you spread it in privacy coins and why? Which ones do you think will truly succeed and stand the test of time?

Some options to work with:

Monero
Zcash
ZenCash
Verge
Cloak

My vote goes to Monero, but I'm really liking ZenCash.

ZenCash has a low supply and was recently hyped up on the Palm Beach Confidential newsletter and is a full blown privacy platform. Monero seems to me like a very strong currency with excellent standards for privacy, and a relatively low supply. I can see both of these coins in the $1000+ price.

I have always known and learnt from my few researches about privacy coins that transactions made on the blockchain is shielded from another person. This implies that Senders  or receivers transact anonymously with each on the blockchain. I hope I am right with my findings.

Any of you guys heard of NIX and their Ghost protocol? I recently read about it when McAfee tried to introduce his own privacy coin and these NIX guys commented on his Tweet saying he stole their idea,,, seemed like a pretty active community.

So many pointless privacy coins. There just isn't the need for more than 1 or 2.
you have got the point mate, i guess 1 or 2 privacy coin is enough and remember the common platform like smartcontract platform can implement the side chain solution or create a new privacy protocol to be used in the same chain too.
In my knowledge if almost all of privacy coins were developing the similar protocol with the different name.
They were only aiming for the hype.

That's BS from mcafee, he was abandoning his crap dex platform.

You come out of old messages, which no longer make sense. If you want to see confidentiality and anonymity, transfer of Piratechain. This is 100% confidentiality. It is an experience to live!

I agree that the privacy coin is very important in the crypto world. Because privacy coin guarantees the transactions we do completely
anonymous. And of the many privacy coins in circulation, the best in my opinion monero. Because in my opinion monero besides can be
for transactions, monero is also very good for investment or trading. I have been trading monero for 4 years, mostly my trading results
managed to get a large profit.

So many pointless privacy coins. There just isn't the need for more than 1 or 2.

I totally disagree with you. I believe there is little use case for transparent ledger cryptocurrencies and only few should exist. All the rest should be opaque ledger crypto currencies that would act like existing banking system.  Only sender and receiver knows about transaction.  I have no ideas what you did with your bank account today. What you bought how many money you have there. Once I know your Bitcoin wallet address I would know number of Bitcoins you have and who you traded with.    There is a use case for that but not a huge one.
