Try to attending local conference.
Find out the altcoins and invest in what you can afford with, and make your account go rank up.
Because from Jr. Member you can participate in airdrops and some bounty campaign.
But the most important you must be patient.
Because everything cant be instant  Grin

I am still a newbie friend. i am still learning about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. talking about investing, there are some things that should be attention before investing , for example :.
1. You should do  in-depth research before investing to alt and bitcoin.
2. you must increase knowledge about the crypto world.
the amount of your balance is not small. if I were you, I would use some amount for trading.
this is a little advice from me.  Wink

I actually thing your portfolio is quite good as it is. You can always keep on investing to increase the number of coins, but in general you're set up quite good. And just to clarify, you're saying that you don't understand the market enough to trade, I will tell you something, you understand the market much better than people who "think" they understand it. Because you have realized that trading won't get you anywhere (and in most cases it doesn't) and that holding on coins and believing in what you have invested your money in is the best option. You're already doing that and I think you're one of the few newbies that have the right mentality, most of them are looking for short-term profits and get rekt in the process. You are patient young Jedi, I hope you stay so.

The main advise for newbie is not to try to trade. It's very hard job even for experienced guys.
The second advice is that you should always diversify your risks. Make 2 portfolios. The first one is for long term hodl, the second one is for ICO investment. Each of them should consists of 3-10 coins/projects.
good advice for me who just started this business but i still difficult to follow some project because long time for one project

Welcome to the world of crypto! Exciting times yeah?

After your initial investment you should start looking at how you want to go about your business.

Do you want to be a long term holder? Then allocate a percent of your monthly income that you will systematically invest in your coins

Do you want to be a day trader? Ohhhhh boy, good luck with this one, and enjoy the stress.

Do you want to try flippinng icos? Takes a lot of research and due dilligence.

Whatever you decide to do, it is important to take some time to watch the market and learn.
Research also will trump any advice thrown out here in bitcointalk.

And while you are at it, continue posting and contributing and being a part of the community.  Raise your rank and participate in bounties and airdops.  There are so many ways you can go but always remember the golden rule of crypto.

Keep calm and don't panic.

Don't ever click on a link who somebody has sended to you because it could be infected and always check your urls before opening them. Invest in coins where you know that you can get at least a little bit back.

Not on ICO's where you can see that its nice but it needs support sometimes.

Hi, welcome aboard! Im also a newbie but here are some of my tips for you.
1. Read. Read threads here, or do some research.
2. Beware of hackers/scam. Protect your wallet address. Dont give out your private key. And beware of some forms that will ask about your private key or other private info. Do not!
3. Join airdrops as these give you free coins that in the future may have value.

Hope this helps you! Good luck!  Cool

Very important information that do not join any airdrop if you are not convinced with the ide or found anything suspicious. Also if anyone send any link for the airdrop just do not open it. Also if you are sure about some good ICO, then invest at early stages so that you can get the coins at good discounted rate.

I think what you really want to know is, what are we investing in? I have no problem sharing with others what I'm personally diversifying in. I personally started investing in a few ALT coins that have been doing really well in the last couple of weeks. On the Coinomi wallet I have the following:

Bitcoin ( tends to go up and down, it's going through a slight pull back right now)
Bitcoin Cash went up over 1000% percent since it started at $130.00
Bitcoin Gold went up 200% since it was released.

Learn the basics, Invest wisely and Keep your eye on the alt coin and crypto market at coinmarketcap.com and be sure to always do your research. Read these forums and weight your options. Don't invest what you can't afford to lose. Do your research and if you want to invest then start small and then slowly build your portfolio. Data Dash on youtube.com is a great place to start. And if you haven't gotten one get your self a cold storage wallet, I've noticed that there are a lot of new people who hold a lot of crypto assets, but haven't even considered cold storage security yet.

As the price seems peaking, it's good to keep hold of  all the bitcoins in a much secure manner. Because, these day hackers as well HYIP investment can be found often. Most of them seems to be scams and they easily trap the new ones to the bitcoin. So, it's our goodness to keep it with the best security.

imho Ripple isn`t a good choice neither for short-term nor for long-term investition, other coins have great perspectives and you should hold them
