In my opinion that if you are having incomplete knowledge about the crypto. So, never use it for the trade and hold old altcoin only.

If you are just getting started then the first step is to study the roadmap or whitepaper provided by the project, see the benefits given, their goals, and the team inside.
Then look at the review of the ICO project, if you see good potential in the future on the project. Then you can invest in it. Focus on one previous project, do not be too greedy to make a profit. set goals to make short or long term investments. If you make short-term investments you can trade with the coins you have, if you make a long-term investment then you have to carry on for the coins for a higher one.

Hi guys,

Newbie here trying to set up a crypto profile. 1 month ago I had heard the name Bitcoin but didn't know what it was other than a digital currency and had not heard of any alt coins so bear with me  Undecided

I don't have a huge amount to invest, thus far i have 0.13 BTC and 2 ETH, 2.6k XRP AND 50 OMG. I want to keep adding to this and keep it for as long as needed, i  am not really interested in trading as i don't understand this space enough to do that.

Any ideas or thoughts? Should i move any of these around? Concentrate on adding to bitcoin? Add to XRP/OMG etc etc???

Also i have a ledger nano s en route to keep my coins.

cheers

It sounds hard to believe that a person who a month before did not have a clear idea of what bitcoin is, now has that amount of cryptocurrencies and a Nano Ledger to keep them. That's why I think that if you decided to invest your money in all of this, it's because you probably started to investigate many things about cryptocurrencies, that's why it's little credible that you now appear in the forum asking what you should invest in; in any case, who gave you the necessary information to invest in what you have bought, can also guide you in the following steps.

If you ask 10 different people, im sure you will get at least 6 different opinions about that matter. You have to trust your own instincts.

Hello, the cryptocurrencies you have now are all very good. I can only give you some advice. Bitcoin on the market is a very good coin, but it is very slow to get profit, and if you Like researching you can also choose other cryptocurrencies, it is best to be new, so that you are more easily profitable!

Before starting anything, gather as much as possible information you can gather. Read as much information as you can. Get feedbacks as much as you can. Because if you don't do this and started without knowing anything, you might get scammed or anything that will make you resent Bitcoin so better know things first before anything else.

You can try building a 30 30 30 portfolio, that is 30% for long term, 30 for short term and 30 of tokens, that should get you really balanced to begin with.

The most important advice for newbie is about security. Be careful because there are a lot of phishing attempts. Secure your coins in wallets and be extra careful with your passwords and private keys.

And remember to do your own research when deciding in what to invest.

As a newbie like me. I am very careful of answering the question and too much learnd how to post. I'm very careful of my password of not letting others so that it will not hack.

I advice you to be patient and don't rush sell or buy any coin/token. Learn and watch! Also a solid platform can help you making the right trading decision is very good. Ftec can be your winning bet. https://ftec.ai

You are ahead of the game and in the minority because you have started investing early. Over the next 3 years, the crypto market is going to explode and will look completely different. Poink pointed out some great coins to look at. Some of the ones I will highlight and say to look at as well are: REQ, NEO, LINK, ZRX, WTC. Some of the other ones I would suggest looking into is IOTA, WAVES, ENJ, DNT, BAT, SNGLS. You don't need to nor should you invest in all, but at least have a look at them. I would highly recommend looking into REQ right now as it's completely undervalued and will have a huge year in 2018 !!! Wink Wink Wink

Don't spend money that you cannot afford to lose. Crypto investments are very unpredictable and the price could very well fall even further down after you buy which means the value of your coins can decrease at any time. Also when you invest, you should prepare yourself for the wait that accompanies it.

Every newbie needs to learn things the hard way. Give it some time and you will smarten up.

I'm not an expert in trading cryptocurrencies, but it seems that now is the time to buy more ETH, because recently the rate fell strongly down.)

First, the block chain and bitcoin are studied. Know the technology before you make any investment. Look for a good ICO project . Invest them and stick to it for a long time. This is the way I abide by the rules.

For new users, my idea is to read and understand the working principles of specific things before making decisions. As for you, it seems that you still have a long way to go and start to have your altcoins. The advice is still the same, keep studying until you are used to doing what you want to do. And try to find ways to earn and earn profits.

I am also not a master of this field of life but I would like to give my idea which have related to others suggestions and advises. Better to trust yourself when you have knowledge than to trust and rely others ability. Better to put your money in investment that you can overcome in case you will be at loose.

I see you are far ahead seeing that you already have alt coins, and a nano ledger. A lot of people ask questions on even how to purchase altcoins and how to trade it. If you are just starting I think you are taking a nice route with alt coins as well those are solid coins with a decent fluctuation. Just don't be too greedy when you make gains if you are going for the short term, set your goals (which are hopefully realistic) with your sell orders and leave it be. If you are going for long term, as long as you did your THOROUGH research, just be patient!

Welcome to the club.  Wink
I have something to advice for a newbie and it is really a good strategy for me. And this is you should know first what bitcoin is and also what are the other crytocurrency and learn how to join signature campaigns and i recommend to start joining even if youre a newbie for you to earn while youre ranking up.

I would advise you to learn more about crypto currencies and the market before jumping directly on trading. Trading is risky job and it requires some knowledge about crypto and time to research so I would say read more and more about crypto then start with small amount if it makes you some profit then invest more to avoid risk. You should invest only if you are willing to hold it for long term. It is fine to sell if you get some profits
