Joseph,

Just a question about a worst case scenario in which an order is not received through no fault of the buyer.  (stolen, lost, etc.)  If my order (shipped via USPS non-registered mail) doesn't show up in a reasonable amount of time, what happens?  Is the buyer basically SOL?  Or is there a certain time frame in which one can expect either a refund or re-shipment of the order (like maybe two months or so)?

I asked Amagi Metals this a few months ago, and they sort of gave me the runaround on this.  It seems to be a thorny issue. I couldn't find any info on this subject on the Agora Commodities website.

I guess to answer my own question--if it isn't insured by either party, the buyer is screwed--but was wondering what your answer is on this.

Also, do you only accept orders (paid with btc) for which you actually have items in stock?

(Also, all the above is in reference to a possible gold order, just to clarify things a bit)

For the amount these precious metal brokers charge for shipping, they should be insuring/registering the package.

http://www.amagimetals.com/blog/2013/05/23/amagi-metals-shipping-and-insurance/ seems relevant.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

Amagi's shipping page is informative and pretty standard industry wise though I can see how it is not really addressing your issue.

The buyer is not SOL provided that the package never showed up do to a fault with the shipping. For instance if the carrier can not show that an item was delivered then you are entitled to a settlement. Most companies reserve the right to settle with you in either the metals or the USD value. If the sender can show that the product was delivered to the address that you gave then you may not be entitled to any compensation.

The sender will have to get a confirmation from the carrier that the package was lost. Once that happens you should be compensated. If you are getting the run around it might be because the company does not have the liquidity to settle with you without having been paid by their insurance company.

There are ways to contact the local post office to get a better idea on the whereabouts of a package than you can find from their website.

I don't know if I can help you with any more as I don't know the complete details. Give me a call (877) 576-7342 and I will try to help you further. Or you can email me

Tried my first order through Agora today, we'll see how it goes. The competition is very slow in accepting the rise in btc value weather its how they average across exchanges or a limit to the volatility that they accept in the price, Agora was 11% cheaper for the same items as of this post. Hope a tracking # is in my future.

Yes. The Kilo Koalas come in an air-tite seal directly from the Perth Mint. In fact, all Australian products from the Perth Mint come in mint air-tites Wink

Just unpacked my 4 x 10 oz silver bars. Gorgeous! they are secondary market bars, bearing a shield with a ribbon "E Pluribus Unum", "THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA and .999 FINE SILVER / 10 OUNCES TROY on the front, and a pattern of .999 FINE SILVER repeated across the obverse. polished to a near-proof shine. Very nice.

Thanks, Joseph!
