We have not set a date for the ICO yet as we have a development plan at https://jsecoin.com/timeline/ we are focusing on before moving forwards to the ICO.

Rod that's not something I've heard before but I'm surprised that scammers would go to the lengths of registering a business, especially in the UK.

Bitpalas LTD, for example, took several thousand Bitcoins from the "investors", and they had registered as Company Limited in the UK, disappeared in less than a month, and is just one of many companies that have done the same.

That's unfortunate and I'm sorry to all the investors that are affected. The team are mainly based in the UK so our options really are to setup a business here or overseas in a tax haven. We looked at both options when setting up bank accounts and decided from a risk perspective we were safer with legislation and accounting practices in a country we know. There are examples of fraud in every country and while the UK is no different I don't feel the business climate here is worse than other countries. I may have however have a distorted view of this, as I am looking at it from the inside. There have been some really successful ICO's with UK based companies too recently like Electroneum. I hope as long as we are transparent, honest and focus on a long-term approach investors and publishers will be able to look past where we are based.

the mining is flawed again

today I was mining all day long it said .55 JSE mined but when I restarted the browser it said you mined 0 today

Sad

this is like the 5th time this happening and it is really annoying

you never are sure you are mining since the dialog is also there and it will show find hashes but then when you reload all is gone Sad

This was not the case before your latest update on mining

pls fix

I'm not a web developer of course but...strangely, I cannot solo mine with Firefox. It just gives me 50x lower hashrate than any other browser (opera and chrome being trouble free, and IE sucking as usual)

Hi Cryptur bare in mind that the mining is reset at midnight UTC not local timezones, this might have caused the issue.

Atracom, that is strange as firefox or chrome are normally the two fastest browsers and both are tested with the platform. It could potentially be a adblocker plugin causing an issue. In firefox you can also open up a developer console using CTRL + SHIFT + K. This will let you know if there are any errors being reported.

Chris, that's great to hear thank you!

Hi all,

I'm also an active member of jse, i got around 5 coins. But it seems the antivirus is blocking the whole website when i try to access it. JSE admins should do something about this or the affiliate campaigns will not work at all.

Yes, this becomes a major problem for the whole project. I've mentioned before that some antivirus software blocked the JSE coin very aggressively. There is no way for Kaspersky to put the JSE page into the allowed list. I've been trying for hours but Kaspersky blocks every single object on the page, including the logo and other images.

Can it be beacause of Kaspersky's being a piece of KGB spyware?

RE: Kaspersky, this is the current email conversation with them, they are a difficult company to work with. We did get a whitelisting from Bitdefender recently so I'm hopeful eventually Kaspersky will come around to.

Hello,

1) Yes the mining process starts after the 15 second privacy notification has ended. So the user has enough time to opt-out. If you feel we need to increase this time period we could. The system is opt-out because it wouldn’t work as an opt-in model for all the same reasons digital advertising doesn’t work as opt-in. Our mining process isn’t resource intensive and consumes less resources in testing than an auto-loading video advertisement. I feel that we aren’t doing anything worse than the big companies that are running digital ads. From a user experience perspective less resources are consumed and our system is less intrusive than advertising.

2) We could potentially increase the time the privacy notification displays or display it for a set amount of time and then shrink it down to a tiny icon in the bottom of the screen so users can always reach the opt-out link from the icon. This was something we discussed with webmasters in this thread and I think will be pushed out in the next update: https://jsecoin.com/forums/topic/privacy-notification/page/2/#post-4851

Would this help us reach compliance? If so we can bring this forward as a priority and get it rolled out in the next week.

3) The wording of the notification is also discussed earlier in that thread. We can not put too much text in there because it needs to display on all devices including older mobile devices which don’t have much room but if you would prefer we could potentially add a smaller line underneath the main notification for desktop devices with something like “Mathematical mining process will start consuming a small amount of resources starting in x seconds”

The opt-in model we have a system in place where users can register at https://platform.jsecoin.com and do what we call self-mining. As previously discussed I don’t see how it would be possible to run the publisher mining effectively as an opt-in model. I think trying to make the opt-out system work for publishers in a way that is transparent and ethical is better than having no system at at all. However I am biased because our business model is dependant on us getting this right.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our platform. I hope this answers your queries and goes some way to showing our commitment to working with your compliance team.

Kind regards,

James Bachini

That is so true. even so since flash is dead it is less big of a deal to load a video with html5.

Is it normal that a full day of mining barely gives you .5 JSe?

But yet the ico is going to be 100 000 000 jse, whats the point of mining ?

Cyrptocurrencies are traditionally mined by industrial sized server farms setup next to power stations consuming vast amounts of electricity. Our platform saves energy and allows webmasters to monetize their websites by replacing the role of cryptocurrency miners.
Website visitors carry out the mathematical hashing process in the background while browsing a website using excess CPU power which would be otherwise wasted. An unobtrusive code snippet placed on the website runs in the browser while a visitor is on the page. This provides the hashing functionality required to secure the blockchain.
In principle, a very good idea.
When does the ICO start?

Hi Cryptoroll,

It is true because the mining distribution is currently set at 720 JSE for self-miners and 1440 JSE for publishers. These amounts are divided between the entire pool of miners and publishers. We could in theory increase/decrease these amounts but at the moment we have sufficient usage and want to protect the circulating supply of 835,670 JSE to protect the early investors.

Once we have gauged interest before the ICO we may further cap the total supply to balance the valuation to expected demand.

Mr.Zet, ICO will be later this year. Exact date to be announced.

Sencix, that's particularly good. Is that with a publisher website or just on the self-mining?
