Heads up: The Megacoin's forum SSL certificate has expired Aha! So that's the gates that where closing! The issue was resolved immediately, if anyone was really worried about it. The negativity makes it pretty obvious why Kimoto needs to be so secretive.  |

status update?
All quiet on the western front do you need to be an insider to get accurate and quick info or is it because of crypto everyone is also talking crypto? outside money not welcome? Or do you think people should be able to make sense for investing based of sentences like "the gates are closing quietly on the western front"? Sorry for being direct but this is not professional here. Megacoin is doing great/no too good/in trouble/ dead and left to rot which one is it? Is this same management as zetacoin? |

No worries  I was trying not to be negative, but you have accurately describe the boat that most of us are sitting in at the moment... The truth is that no one knows, the lead (only) developer has been quite for a few months now and there are a number of projects that are year or more overdue. Apparently it's 'not the right time' to release these projects yet, what ever that means. I am still holding my collection but I decided a while ago that I was finished with investing my hard-earned fiat in Megacoin until we get some concrete developments released. Megacoin might still come out with something ground breaking and shoot up to $10 a coin, but so far all it has done (since Nov 2013) is loose the 50M market cap (it once had) and slip into obscurity. There are (I believe) a number of community projects being created in the background based on MEC, technically the network is running well, mining is commencing and exchanges are still dealing in MEC on a daily (all be it low volume) basis. |

Thanks for your insight. I understand the (only) coder Dr.K is silent most good dev say little. And yes Mega still is technically running well.

Why hasn't the community (not the dev) created and released these projects? Yes, mega burned down $50 million in market cap ... some members of the community should be very rich. Was any of this cashed out capital reinvested into community projects?
Mega still stands in good position. I don't mean to be negative but can anyone show value besides top50 market capital (now 1 penny to the $) and trade volume. An amazing amount of potential is gone. But there is enough brand placement to allow Mega to claw back.
I come only as a potential long term investor. There are serious concerns, and Mega never seems to touch the bottom. So the key question where is new value being created?

Same impression do i have too. My situation: i bought some mec in summer. They didn't loose so much since then and now i would have to decide if i have too many already or want more but i can see nothing concrete that would let me find a good way for knowing if to buy or not. The dev is not the nanny and it is good when the dev is not doing the PR BUT you should have someone in charge of public relations who is communicating in a clear and easy manner what's on the roadmap for the next months to a year. Maybe that would help bring in investors too? Mec is running great and i like that but there is a cloud of uncertainty here and i feel not all relevant infos are public knowledge. Please get the PR sorted. |
