IMHO LTC now looking like other BTC forks, and there are a lot of them, and may be some of them will be better then LTC.
ETH is first in their smart contract so i think ETH is better than LTC

ETH current technical strength far exceeds LTC, it is an indisputable fact, because ETH most successful place lies in its intellectual contract and ERC20 TOKEN. As for LTC, if not lee Nicholas invited to the development team, and successfully evolved the LTC, and give it more features, I think I would not buy it.

It is a very big gap between this two cryptos, but this two offer a very great investment and holdings for long term, when you hold LTC you can buy as many as you want now because the price is low compare to eth or even bitcoin, this two is a potential market in the future.

i thinks Hard to say, I am probably giving you a biased advise, so take it with a grain of salt. There will be an infinite number of ethereums out there and the only advantage that Ethereum has over Litecoin is having smart contracts, a feature that currently does nothing. Litecoin will have smart contracts as well as Lapps. Litecoin has a finite number of coins out there, and it is decentralized, while Ethereum is not. Ethereum was premined, and Litecoin has had one of the most fairest launches. Also Ethereum has been hacked multiple times, Litecoin... none. Please take my advise with a grain of salt, Ethereum is for price speculation, it is great if you are going to day trade, if you want to hold, then Litecoin.

BTC is too mainstream and the strongest coin on the market.
I would recommend hodl BTC for longterm.

Trade LTC and ETH in shortterm.

I believe in no altcoins, only BTC. If BTC rises, altcoins will follow later. If BTC crash, everything on the market will follow its path.

BTC can do almost everything LTC can do. LTC is just riding the BTC wave. So ETH is much better. But if I had to choose between ETH and BTC, I'd choose BTC.

Both is good altcoin for longterm investment, but in my opinion ETH is more strong in fundamental than LTC because their blockchain use by many third party like many fintech and start ups for smart contract and this case will increasing the demand of ETH. Divide by 70% ETH and 30% LTC I think good portfolio for longterm investment.

For sure both ethereum and litecoin is good to invest you can make a lot of profit once you choose this two coin. The price lf ethereum for sure will become thousands dollars and for sure litecoin will become hundreds dollars price and if that happen we can make a lot of profit for sure. This coin is for longterm.

I like both. And I am also an investor/trader that diversifies. But if I only have to pick one, then i'll go for Eth. Ethereum got more influence since it is tied up with many registered companies and promising coins in its platform. I also have doubts with Bitcoin's longevity but short term it should continue to rule the top.

Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks

I don't see it going anywhere? From $0 to $8000 and BTC is still going nowhere are you sure? And you think LTC who just copied BTC's technology is going somewhere?
I suggest you think things through. ETH has great potential because it offers something new. Smart contracts are something BTC or LTC do not have.

You misunderstood me.  I will clarify that I meant to say that I don't see BTC going away and that it is and will continue to be the giant in the market.

I am now hold both ETH and LTC.  I was fortunate to wake up from my alert and buy ETH on a dip.  I will also look for a market correction on BTC buy some on the dip as well.

I feel like litecoin needs bitcoin to succeed and ethereum can do that on its own.
So ethereum is the safer one to hold long term imo.

Both coins are great but i prefer ETH to be more profitable because of it can steadily cope up with BTC in the market.

Both! Ethereum is completely on it,s on ecosystem with many of it feature working 100%. It is public knowledge that all token used in ICO is based on ethereum.(May be 98%) Litecoin will also be very useful in future when bitcoin become a million dollar per bitcoin!
