Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks
ETHEREUM no doubt about it.dont hesitate dont have second thoughts
for the coming year is for alts and specially ethereum.i have been waiting
for how long and i can feel that this is the moment ive been waiting for

I chose Etherium even though I also like litecoin because Etherium has the prospect of a chance to rise higher than litecoin
so I always set aside my money to invest in Etherium even though what I set aside is not big

Agree with you, I like Vitalik`s plans, espessialy Casper PoS, because PoS is future of crypto-market, mining consumes too much electricity, it`s terrible for humanity!

I believe that for efficiency it is necessary to distribute money between these coins in order to obtain a guaranteed profit and avoid losses. LTC and ETH have a good growth prospect and I hope with it help get a good profit!

For me, easy question, Ethereum of course for long term Hodl, because is much more like whole project, platform and currency, base for tokens, and ltc is only currency

ETH have very good prospects. In my opinion, he will soon rise above$ 1000. LTC easy to withdraw funds from the exchanges as fast transactions. The other values I do not see it. And I think that its value is artificially inflated

Both of them was my choice. This altcoin has the chance to have high value in the future. But ethereum is the higher one so many of us rely on investing on ethereum.

Correct these two coin is good to hold for long period of time, that is why this time is good to buy these coins because the value are now starting to increase its value, specially for ethereum there are many people predicting that next year would be year of altcoin. Now me and my wife are planning to buy other coins which best to hold other than eth and LTC.

As we can see the price of bitcoin is too high, you need more money to gain profit. Unlike in eth and ltc, kindly include etc. They're getting started and still good to buy for it's price. Hodl it for long term Smiley and wait until the price is reasonable to sell.

Ahhh.. ok

I would pick Ethereum for sure. LTC is only a currency and it isnt much better than its competitors like monero, zcash, dash, etc. While ethereum is a big platform with many dapps in development.

Both ethereum and litecoin is a good cryptcurrency,  first is the ethereum the best altcoin and litecoin is the second the best altcoin among the rest, but if i will choose between ethereun and litecoin for long term i will always choose eth because i am a solid holder of ethereum.

we know ethereum is the first choice of everyone who wants to invest in altcoins, but maybe we should also be open for some room for other altcoins.
LTC is doing great also in the market and it shows potentiality just like eth,XRP and other competitive altcoins. And i know keeping LTC as your investment might give a huge profit in the future as it continue growing and placing a good market value.

If for the long term I think you should take the ETH, because usually in ico everyone will use the gas from eth to sell the token ERC20. That way ETH is more effective for long term because the market is active every time.

I don't agree with this view. In my opinion, the technology of LTC is far behind, and the only remaining value of it is speculation. However, ETH still has great room for improvement.

Ethereum and litecoin for the long term for investment are both good. However among them I would choose, of course, ethereum. This altoquine leader is very undervalued, although recently it has been growing quite well in price. In addition to the general outlook, here, it seems, also affects the current increase in the cost of ethereum and the last improvement in its throughput to ten transactions per second.
