Yea the power improvement is not huge for already optimized cards. Only managed to drop about 10w per card when testing the new algo on 1070s

I'll do further testing once it goes live ofc, rather mine actual lux in the meantime Smiley

Can you please let us know what power settings you were trying to use here, because you're results are out of line with MANY others.

Are you way down at 50% or way up at 120%?

We really appreciate being able to collect real world data from anyone that is willing to spare a few GPU cycles, and we want to keep on improving efficiency whenever we can Cheesy

When i get the time il throw my cards on a couple hours Smiley
I assume i can just use a dummy wallet address? Not that it matters when i think about it as it is different chains :p

How Lux does compares to Supernet (UNITY)?

Both have a simlar concept- one which is much needed in the crypto world. I like that Lux is mineable and wll be ASIC resistant.

Anyway, it would be nice to see a comparison chart.

I use the webwallet.
I received 0,6 LUX 1 month ago and since then no more POS LUX received...
is the POS function down? (I have 310 LUX on it)
If you didn't yet, try to follow staking optimization guide https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/388703503973089301/435579436654526487/LUX_QT_How_to_Optimize_Staking_v0.1.pdf
Current staking rate is about stake per day from 2-2.5k.

I have 450 lux on how many should I split it?
I have not had a stake for an extremely long time (since the staking problem), have taken over my wallet.dat file from the old wallet, my old recipient addresses are no longer at "received" only newly created, I have to send it to a newly created address So that staking works?

Got around 45% power reduction and 20% less heat pollution.

Any ETA for when it will be on mainnet instead of testnet ?

Thx.

Bonjour

I am testing new phi2 algo. Interresting!

I would be glad to contibute to tpruvot and Luxcoin Team work. I am very excited and hope this is the right place to post my experience to help you.
Hopefully you understand my non native English.

I own 5 diffent GPUs connected to an old ASUS P5Q Deluxe Mobo

Power readings approximate from Nvidia Inspector. Which hovers up and down a lot but I tried to integrate by my mind.  Shocked Grin  Roll Eyes
I am technician and sound engineer so I know about that. Power readings in Inspector are quite exact to my experience.

1. I noted the aproximate integrated power readings by mining Luxcoin with z-enemy 1.08 as I do sometimes.
2. I had to take down those Overclockings a lot (!) with phi2 for it not to crash. It goes even higher with same settings than for example x11evo.
So the clocks are quite at the max clocks. I know these cards well. Power Limit around 65 - 72 Depends on Card.

Results after some 30-60 minutes testing and three crashes/reboots before writing:

- GPU 1: GTX 970. Bad Elitegroup 970 with weak cooler and Hynix. Same Power use... 105 Watts... 1.65 MH/s...BUT!!!...
....With this algo almost the same hashrate and clocks compared to my second but very good 970! Here with phi2 only around 15% less hashrate than the other EVGA. On other Algos like Equihash it would loose like 30% Hashrate due to thermal throttling I guess.

- GPU 2: Great "Efficient" EVGA GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0

---> 5% Less Power. Around 107 Watts. 2 MH/s, GPU Clock 1450 MHz. Memory Stock.

- GPU 3: Zotac GTX 1060 3GB Hynix. Power hovers around extremely 50 - 95 Watts. So it is really difficult to say... integrating by my mind... LOL

---> I'd say 65 Watts or even less with some spikes to over 90 Watts. Original LUX: 75 Watts. Around 12% Less Power use. 1.9 MH/s. GPU Clock 2 GHz. Memory -300

- GPU 4: Palit GTX 1070 Jetstream. Perfect GPU! Very Lucky with this card. Readings hover from 75 - 117 Watts...

---> I guess 12-18% less than original Luxcoin. This hovers around to much to integrate by my mind... Sometimes it stays a few seconds around 70 Watts then a few seconds 100 -115.
---> Guessing integrated 80 - 90 Watts. Original LUX: Around 100 Watts. -15% Power use. Hash 3.1 MH/s, GPU Clock: 2 GHz, Memory -300

- GPU 5: ASUS Strix (but good one!) GTX 980ti OC. This allways crashed after a while. I am to lazy now to test more. Probably needs higher Power limit.

---> But it showed great reading before crash: 150 Watts vs 175 Watt Original LUX. Hash 3.22 MH/s, GPU Clock 1370 MHz, Memory stock oc (3300)

So it runs now still stable since I started writing this but without the GPU 5 980ti for now. She is a delicate but nice Queen.

I hope it helps. Wishing good night. cu

Ideally you would split it into inputs of 100-150, so 450 could be 3 inputs of 150 LUX each. You can send it to your same address, or a new one. It shouldn't matter. Just note that your coins will need to mature after sending.

I like your aproach to the Exchange marked, and understand that adding coins and posting it in the thread is what can be afforded with such low fees. But you should really try to contact the coin teams and have them endorse you. I would never trade at a exchange not listed by the team unless it was idex or etherdelta.

New features coming at block 300,000??

Many of us have long awaited the next update to bring the new rewards formula (increasing rewards for staking and MNs), as well as smart contracts, and now the new Phi 2 algorithm to better protect against the possibility of ASICs. All of these updates will require a fork, so the team has been waiting to put them all in one big update so we only have to update our wallets once.

In a recent GitHub update, there is a reference to the Phi 2 algo going into effect on block 300,000. (see: https://github.com/216k155/lux/commit/ee8bbac8b476286951435aa6fdb52a562a01d199)

In the last 24 hours, we have generated 1174 blocks. At that rate, that puts block 300k 24.8 days from today, or around Tuesday, June 12.

This can be pushed back of course, as none of this code is set in stone until they push out a new wallet. But, be on the look out! Sometime in the next few weeks we may have a new wallet to upgrade to bringing us some great new features.

Smart Contracts are super exciting for what it could bring to LUX. The new rewards should help price by reducing supply going to exchanges and further rewarding staking/running a masternode. The new algo should make mining more efficient.

Yes, you can stake your coins via web wallet, just need to import your private keys into https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/388703503973089301/432965726232641536/How_to_guide_-_LUX_Web_Wallet_V1.1.pdf
You can see staking coins amount just under balance in left upper coner of web wallet dashboard.
Current staking estimates is stake per day from 2-2.5k, do further math for your case.

I see the "No block source available" message for couple of days already. I have already tried to delete peers.dat and start the wallet again - with no result. What can I do for my LUX wallet to be online again?

Should we still (in 2018) deal with such a "children's problems" with syncing?..
