The first reason why the price of Bitcoin is so high is because it is superior. In year 2009, Bitcoin came to an existence. It has become superior because it is the first cryptocurrency. A lot of developers, hardwares, and softwares supported Bitcoin first. The next reason is, the total demands on Bitcoin is high.

Be wary about what is happening.
It could be so high now but something might go on again that will try to break it down.
There might be another movement like what happened with BCH.
I hope now we are all ready and not trust pumps from other cryptos which is obviously just to fulfill their greeds

Is price of bitcoin so high (compared to altcoins) because it is so much superior or is it just because it is THE coin - the original one. Cheers  Why is the price of bitcoin so high? Bitcoin is getting more popular every day and more merchants start using it. I remember a few years ago was impossible to buy on eBay using Bitcoin, now there are small companies that can do it for you. Bitcoin was first and the adoption rate is higher than any other cryptocurrency. Bitcoin limited supply of 21 million coins has a huge impact on price.The good and bad press makes bitcoin more popular, each time when BTC price increase there is a lot of news and articles all over the internet so we can expect more when BTC hits 10.000$ price mark for the first time. |

Some WALL ST companies now will use Bitcoin as a derivative and also they will use altcoins as risk packages to sell to the banks. THIS way Banks get involved in altcoins and mainly Bitcoin. Also there will be Bitcoin futures launching end of this year and many people still look at bitcoin as a less riskier digital currency to hedge their funds into.

The price of bitcoin is so high because of the demand in the market. It is the king of cryptocurrency, Ethereum is the queen and followed by altcoins.

Cheers I think it's because of the constant demand that bitcoins are receiving across the world. And so the price of bitcoins is increasing. One of my other reasons is the succession of the hardfork to further improve the Bitcoins. Hopefully the next few years will be fine with the problem of the high transaction fee we are currently experiencing. In order for us to use Bitcoins freely. And we're financially independent. |

Demand for Bitcoin keeps growing as more and more people want it all over the world, and then all the more companies accept BTC as a (one of muptiple and sometimes even the only) payment method available, which further contributes to the growth in demand, and so on, and so forth. There are other reasons but this looks major.

If I understand everything correctly, then like all other currencies, the cost of bitcoin is determined by speculative factors. It turns out that the more there are large players in this e-commerce market - the more the currency will cost, because it is stronger, including the number of holders - participants (miners) and investors? All right?  |

I think why bitcoin market price is increasing so fast it is because of the popularity of the coin many investors attracted to invest in bitcoin, the many investors buying bitcoin the more it would increase because of the market cap supply demand increases normally the price of it would increase because of the investment demand of bitcoin.
