Crypto is an Asset or Currency?

Currently I regard crypto as an asset and also a currency. The purpose of crypto was created initially is only as a currency, but as time goes by the crypto is more interesting and this has made more and more people are interested to use bitcoin. This is the reason that makes crypto very well made into an asset, with an extraordinary price increase every time then the owners of crypto could easily benefit.

I think crypto is both an asset ang currency. It is a valuable asset since you can sell it in a higher price. It is a currency like digital currency because you can use this to buy or purchase and even use this to pay for bills. It has multi purpose and we can earn from it. You can use this for money transfer since it is digital, you can do online transaction. This is i think why people are hooked with crypto like btc. Its like 2 in 1 package. You can earn, its a business and you can use this in buying too.

Crypto as asset and currency? it's all depend on user, there are many user used as payment system like campaign manager in campaign, but there are people who collected bitcoin as their assets in virtual world. so the conclusion is it depend on user if the user is trader type it's become currency and the user investor type it's become an asset

      Crypto are both Asset and Currency. Asset in terms of value like gold but it is just a digital asset. Currency in terms of payment like dollar,we use crypto as a digital currency to pay or buy some goods.

Cryptocurrencies are both. For experts that doesn't want or tolerate especially our government would say that bitcoin was not an asset nor can never be an asset, they kept saying that bitcoin was useless and no value and not to trust this, but for us believers bitcoin is an asset that can exchange to our local currency when we need to whenever we want to.

I agree with your opinion. Crypto is a currency but digital. It was not like an ordinary currency like fiat that you can use as payment for all materials and services. But it was an asset that may convert into fiat.

crypto is a currency because it is called cryptocurrency and it is also works and acts like a regular currency but it is also an asset because it can be used in any other things like trading , investing , mining , etc.  crypto's can also be used in both offline and online as long as it is accepted and legalize in a specific country because there were also country that restrict and bans bitcoin like Russia and China because they see bitcoin as a form of illegal tool or unit that can be used by criminal to do a crime like money laundering and scamming/phishing.

It's both. It's spendable and you I heard that you can already use it to buy and McDonalds and other restaurants and hotels. I really don't care if they treat is as  any of the two because  I'm totally fine as long as it's accepted and will not get banned.

With the rising price of bitcoin in 2017, bitcoin is becoming a new asset class and some countries are treating bitcoin and other crypto coins as asset for tax reporting purpose. So crypto currency is more of an asset than currency.

I think cryptocurrency is an asset too and we are not going to see cryptocurrency as currency in short of time. but if there is any good news from the government and they are supporting cryptocurrency, then I think we have the opportunity to see cryptocurrency as a new currency. but some of the government say that people should take their risk if they decide to involve in cryptocurrency and they should know how to prevent if the bad thing comes.

It is more of a currency because it can be used for trading like money and it has its own value to other currencies. It is less yet to be an asset because it is not yet widely used in large part of the economy as a main currency, but I think in the future it will truly be an asset. For now it should be considered as currency.

Yes cryptocurrency runs in both as an asset or a currency. Just like Bitcoin which is a decentralized asset that will give people financial freedom and it is alao used as a payment system based on blockchain technology that offers fast and easy transactions. It could be used to pay bills or buy goods online/offline anywhere and anytime in the world without hassle. Traders and people that wants to be rich instantly are hoarding and making Bitcoin as an investment and that's not the main purpose of Bitcoin's existence indicated on it's whitepaper. I worked for signature campaigns to get decent amount of Bitcoins as payment that is why Bitcoin gives me and my family a chance to live a better life which fiat money can't give but some other people play for it on the market but that is how they think of it so we can do nothing about that it is their right. I can also see that Bitcoin is the best investment but only to those who has capital.

Crypto being an online and digitalized currency, can be also said to be an asset because of its recurring valuation process. Its not something that you buy or get hold on and forget. Its like an investment, rates go up and down every minute, value changes every day, small and big social and economucal sitiatioms change the fundamentals of the currecy on a daily basis. It is almost like a stock market with the difference of frequency of change in value.

Bitcoin cryptocurrency can both play as a currency and an asset. As you can observe, why would it be called a cryptocurrency if it does not act as a currency? Bitcoin is a kind of currency in a form of being a virtual currency. In this type, currency can be used and accessed easily compared to the regular currency we have. In a way that it acts as a asset because it is good for long term holding especially for investments because it inhibits the characteristic of being capable and be able to grow in a designated period of time.
