Hi everyone. I've tried participating in a couple of airdrops but haven't gotten any coins yet. For those of you who have, how do you go about making anything out of airdrops? Is it worthwhile or just the usual pump and dump?

Almost 80% (based on my own opinion) of airdrops are (and were) just a pump and dump project. If its a pump and dump project, it is profitable. If its a pump and dump project, you just have to invest a little, watch the price graph, follow your greediness(ouch, that was rude), sell and make a profit.

But, the other 20% are (and were) a real project. Hold, until you die (lol) drowning on your own bathtub that full of money.

If you have ample of time then don't hesitate to participate in these airdrops because all you need to do is to fill a small form.I must say that most of them may turn out to be useless coins but if you are fortunate enough then you might come across some coins which even hit the mark of $1-$2.
You will get your coins have some patience. Smiley

I guess airdrop must be profitable because they offer to you free token- mean free money.  Grin

You get token for FREE. If thats not considered as a profit, then i don't know what is!
As we get the tokens for free and all we have to do is hold it for a short period or long, that's on us. And if the coin does great in the market then you had that for free so that's a profit. And even if the coin dies or does not do well, it's not your loss as yoi didn't invest anything in it. So there's no chance of a loss, and theres only profit!

Some airdrops are profitable. There are just some who are just out to get your information or scam you by getting your private key but there are some that would be profitable if you will just have patience. One of the airdrops that I joined wherein its value shoot up after a few weeks is Ethereum Blue. If I would have sold it when it was distributed then I would get a few dollars but after a few weeks it rise up to more than $500 in value for 1000 coins. I got 1000 Blue from the airdrop and since it has been listed in other exchanges other than Etherdelta, price rise up. Patience does pay.

Yes, airdrops are beneficial. But if the work of filling it with the bounty can be of greater benefit. Work is similar in both.

I think airdrops is less profitable than bounty campaign because tokens are less and bounty campaign will give more money to participants than in airdrops.

Airdrops are profitable I think, but the percentage for a good one is 3-5% behind the scam ones.

It is not a correct question, airdrop is free money, so it is no such profitable, it always profit, just the matter how much is the profit.

Yes airdrop is free money, you don't have to invest to participate in airdrop just fill-up the form and join to there channel and wait till the ICO end. For me this is the good way to start. It's like planting a seed now then harvest in the future just be patience is the no.1 rule in that.

Most of the time, it does not pay off the time that you spent to collect some coins from the airdrops. I prefer to spend that time to do my own research by reading the whitepapers, looking at the team members through linkedin etc.

maybe yes and maybe not profitable,
but now most airdrops are scams.

It depends, when an airdrop is giving you tokens that has no value until now then that's it. Some airdrop are scams but luckily we didn't invest our money for their shitty tokens.
Signature bounty campaign is more legitimate than Airdrops.

I participated Airdrops after joining the signature Campaign, you can do both but you can't really expect good money on Airdrops since they just want to give portion of tokens that has no value or has a little value.

I guess what I'm saying is they might be worth your time. But they were more worthwhile a month or two ago.
I would put most airdrops in the "pump and dump" category. But that doesn't mean they aren't worthwhile.
I managed to grab a few that pumped really hard, made several ETH out of it. It seems like the hype is over for ERC20 tokens, though.

They'r, Airdrops are likely free tokens or stakes for supporting projects and being part of their community like DeepOnion and other do.

Airdrops are just trying to make some money but they aren't the best tokens that has good value. Good ICOs are not giving away tokens through Airdrops but instead din signature campaigns and by through Crowd sales.

In addition to the earlier statement, when you have enough time to join airdrops then as long as you're able to manage more time then you'll lose nothing. Airdrops is just another way to distribute tokens and to circulate it in the market.
