Do we Need Altcoin?

There are Bitcoin, and also there are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X that we use it as an altcoin, but do we still need other altcoins? as i knew in the forum on the altcoin section there are much announcement about new altcoins almost everyday. do we still need that altcoins?

For me it is so much more interesting to play with alternative cryptocurrencies then to go with the common one, because they are so much more diverse, and they are very volatile, so because of that they would be more risky to invest in.

We need altcoin since it create a playground for testing features and concepts that would never make their way quickly into bitcoin.The crummy coins with nothing to offer are noise that you'll find in any natural system. The altcoin with something to offer are the signal. We must take the good with the bad.

Yes, we do. Bitcoin needs a competition to get better. But i agree that there are too many altcoins right now, and a lof of them are completely useless

Yes, we need altcoins. There are many characteristics that the altcoins have and bitcoin doesn't have. Altcoins have different purpose in our society, most of them are solving the slow payment system. I am sure that many more people will patronize altcoins.

The coin market (including the technology) is still evolving. Everyone is trying to solve a unique issue or proposing a better and secured way to do things.

There is an obvious meaning of the existence of altcoins, however, a lot depends on the developer persistency, intentions, community, etc. We still don't have one technology solving all the problems of the world (probably it is impossible to expect that). Therefore the industry will need altcoins/technologies to solve niche problems.

Indeed very many new altcoins are emerging. However, I've seen too many scams so far. Regardless of fraud or whatever, more than 60% ICO is a scam, 30% fails and only 10% is successful. I hope that really successful ICO can make innovation in the future

I agree with a lot of people in here that we need Altcoins.  We don't need soooooo f-ing many of them, but we need some.  Bitcoin is out dated and un-evolving as evident by the ridiculous transaction fees it takes to move BTC around.  Who in the hell wants to buy a $3 coffe with BTC when you spend $15 in transaction fees to get it confirmed in a timely manner.
