Because 99% of them are glorified pump and dump schemes. Only 3-4 of them max will every find any applicable use in the next year or two. Look into the coins. Research, and you'll see the coins draw investors because of a particular set of features or unique utility. Asking why we "need" all of the coins is like asking, if you were an investor in the dotcom boom, why we needed Gmail when we had AOL.
Coins like LBC FLO SC SJCX all have uses beyond the coin themselves.
Answer this question: Why do we need Apple, Google, Facebook, Whisper, Kik, Slack etc, we already had IRC, MSN, ICQ etc?
And you will answer your own.

In my opinion we need altcoin to resell and buy bitcoin, this in a fast way of gain, another factor is the realization of several projects destined to several areas with different price and that moves the market.

Bitcoin is fine. But there are plenty of other cryptos that offer so much, in some cases more than Bitcoin.
So yes, we need them.

Off course it a yes, we need altcoins very much because there are still many good altcoins to invest for and we all know that as of know the price of bitcoin is almost $12k so it is very high unlike to altcoins that is very affordable to invest for and i am very sure that investing here in altloins is we can make many from it. |

In my opinion. Yes beacuse we are currently in a phase where we are heading to a new era which I think is called virtualera or internet era. I believe altcoins are necessary just like different fiat money because this would be their accepted payment.

There are Bitcoin, and also there are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X that we use it as an altcoin, but do we still need other altcoins? as i knew in the forum on the altcoin section there are much announcement about new altcoins almost everyday. do we still need that altcoins?
if I am, obviously I really need altcoin because altcoin is a coin that is no less good with Bitcoin Cash and the like, altcoin is an amazing and very profitable coin. |

I agree that there a lot of altcoins, but I think altcoins make the way for great tech and innovations. Of course you have BTC, but alts have so much potential for different applications.
I agree. You can and will be able to use altcoins for variety of projects. They are specifically optimized for particular intended use. From advertising purposes to banking purposes. So they are must! |

It seems to me that you are confusing 1.Bitcoin HARDFORK and 2.ALTCOINS. Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X is a Bitcoin fork, they provide larger blocks. Altcoins are ETH, DASH, ZEC and etc, they provide features like full anonymity, smart-contracts and etc.

Actually, it's like you asking 'do we need samsung while we have apple. The bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, it's a trigger for created of another cryptocurrency. But as a first crypto, there should be still many flaws in it. On the other hand, there's a people or might be a group who want to create something better than bitcoin function, and then new crypto was born and we call it altcoin. And it's happening all the time. So yes, we need it as a comparison for its usability.

I think so yes, i also believe that some Altcoins will survive and others won't. Some Altcoins are important for other ones to work for example Ethereum.

First we need to undrestand something the main reason of crypto currency is not profits it was found for safest online transactions because fiat currency transaction over internet was hackable.But bitcoin price keeps increasing due to its low availability so some people are creating altcoins less expensive which also provides the safe and secured online transation.Yeah so we need other altcoins too because crypto currency will be the future currency of the world so we need some other crypto currencies other than bitcoin. |

Hard to speculate about future. We all can see that bitcoin right now is not exactly the best payment option or a currency.
BTC is better suited to be an safe haven asset, capital investment and long term option for hoarders.
Bitcoin is not doomed yet, there is still time to fix scaling problem and reach total dominance over altcoins.
But if the scaling war will continue for extended period of time, it is possible that ETH, LTC or DASH will take over BTC dominance.
