Do we Need Altcoin?

people asking this question seriously dont understand what altcoins are. you think they're just clones of bitcoin but with a different name? They're tokens that can be used on specific platforms, nothing more nothing less. Its like a coupon for a movie theatre; as long as people are going to watch movies there, the coupon will be worth something. if the theatre becomes more popular, the coupon will rise in value. But, no matter how valuable the coupon gets, you wont be able to use it to pay for gas at the gasstation.

Bottom line is, yeah we need altcoins, you cant use bitcoin for transactions on the Sonm network for example.

Behind the success of BTC, there is strong contribution of altcoins. Without them, we might not feel the importance of BTC. Again we need variety of coins out there as not every coin will be suitable for all.

no one said that altcoins are just a clone of bitcoin  but maybe a few exeptions . like for example , there are also other newly created altcoin which is verry simillar to other altcoins in terms of usage and name and that is what you called a litterally clone of alt not btc .  we do need altcoins because alts are more suitable for paying or shopping because of their low fees plus faster processing when doing a transaction . while btc is mainly used investing and trading due to its high volatility  which is known to bring good profits if ever the price pumps .

In my opinion we still need altcoins because of the different concepts of altcoins and technologies that will continue to evolve, from the article I read that altcoin takes the core concept of bitcoin, P2P and blockchain technologies that are developed into new concepts.
This year I saw a lot of tokens appearing and most of them have the same concept, I want to ask about the opinions of the users crypto in this forum ?

We really need altcoins because it has its own use which other coins don't have. Also, we don't just rely on these coins you mention above.
