I'll add QAU for the record. 
Deflationary currency which is actually generating income.  At a measly 30 odd million market cap it but a drop in the ocean.  BTW I just got in a couple of days ago on advice from uncle so obviously I don't want it to go down.  But hey it makes sense and is easy for simple people like me to understand.

It would be ETH, because the transaction is much better than bitcoin, but only in term of transaction. Bitcoin will always become the best cryptocurrency so I suggest you to divide your investment to 70% for bitcoin and 30% for ETH. I don't recommend other altcoin to you because most of them is only for speculative investors. But if you lucky or have a good observation you will get higher profit than only hold bitcoin or altcoin, but there is very big risk in it.

Most of the forum members have given a wise suggestion I believe. However, I would also suggest Ethereum as one of the best altcoin in 2018 followed by Ripple. When all the crytocurrency was down, Ripple was up and steam lined its price for more than $1. Ethereum have less transaction fee compared to Bitcoin and the growth is also good.
