Is bitcoin just a brand?

To the unitiated, bitcoin is cryptocurrency. The iPhone, Kodak, Frigidaire, the dollar and the English language all rolled into one. A few years from now, the products listed here can be bought using bitcoins. It is the gold standard in cryptocurrency.

Yes it’s valid argument even I thought about that but one more thing is that people always like original form of any things even it has huge value . Bitcoin is oldest and original form of crypto currency first blockchain technology, peer to peer network and decentralised database . So it’s having value people still valuing crypto currency based on bitcoin value.

I don't think its just a brand but I would say it's a great investment source which is old and trustworthy.Though its alternatives are much faster and has more features as compared to bitcoin but you have to keep in mind that when it was invented and how many people have invested in it and for them any drastic change would effect.

That is right, bitcoin is a digital currency which a lot of people are getting into because aside from being profitable investment it is also the best for being the source of income for the people around there. as i said earlier , brand actually means a name of the product or an item. thats why the name bitcoin can still be called as a brand. you dont need to produce products just to be called your self as a brand.

Bitcoin still has the highest demand in the markets and become the most valuable asset of investment. all those features of altcoins can not make altcoins be better than bitcoin. it can not be said "just because of the name" when the altcoins can not independently stand on its own. blockchain always develops which always support bitcoin. this is why bitcoin is always the best.

Bitcoin is just an application of the blockchain technology in the currency area, and it's similar to the bitcoin cash/lite currency. In addition, the blockchain can be used in many other neighborhoods for information transfer/record/encryption, such as identity/power/property/contract/reputation/logistics, etc.

It's just that bitcoin is known to the public.

I don't think that it will matter in long term. After 50 years no one will care that Bitcoin is 6 years older than Ethereum.

Yes, Bitcoin doesn't have a dev team or some kind of a single leader, who can easily manipulate the price. But again, that's just only matter of time. Also in other hand on, everything leads to the fact that in the future bitcoin may be centralized in the hands of huge mining farms and mining pools.

I will take the smartphone as a parable, for example smartphone with the brand of Apple is the most widely used smartphone by the residents. Later, another smartphone emerged that offers more features than the apple smartphone and the price is half the price of apple smartphones . But this is not so much affect on smara tphone sales because people who put quality is still more than people who only see the features and low prices. As with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, it's just a matter of trust not just brands.
