Bitcoin is a benchmark of Altcoins growth. If the value of bitcoin each day is higher, just as with Altcoins's increasingly clear and strong life to grow in the future, altcoins value will follow the development of bitcoin. Altcoins will continue to increase as well since altcoins and bitcoins are two interrelated coins.

The cryptocurrency industry is experiencing a wonderful period in history. As at now, there are over 1600 cryptocurrencies (coinmarketcap) this goes to show the enthusiasm in the industry. However, some altcoins, don’t really have much to offer or basically the coin is just existing for the name sake. For an altcoin to thrive, the coin should have a good project as well as hard working and enthusiastic promoters. This means that not all coins/tokens will survive. Nobody will put his money in a non-profitable venture. It is in fact, the survival of the fittest. The good news is that the crypto currency industry is seriously growing.

yes without bitcoin altcoins can survive. Effect may be there but not for long term, after sometimes altcoins again come to their own way and will start rise.

Perhaps this question should have been of great importance when the first developers wondered if it was worth investing money, time and effort in a revolutionary technological project that had no antecedent in the economic history of the world.
Even if BTC incorporates all alt technologies, there will always be a new alt with advanced tech. So they'll always have a place in crypto.

Altcoins must survive because with the new altcoin that comes out comes new technology and new ideas how to use crypto to help us in everyday life. Fairly recently i found interesting coin called SIBCoin. Coin comes from Russia with interesting features like untraceable transactions and offline wallet.

Altcoins are not only surviving, they are doing great. Bitcoin dominance is lower than ever and ethereum and NEO are showing clear syptoms of evolving faster and in a more business-like manner than BTC.

Absolutely yes, altcoin will going to survive this price correction that happened since the year 2018 came in. And even this correction happened still Ethereum  manage to increase it's value that is actively rising it's value compared to bitcoin. Though some kind of coin hasn't woke up tontheir downfall I'd still believe that anytime soon altcoins were going to be ok as the year 2018 goes on.

Not all altcoin will survive for sure... Some alts are already dead.. That coinmarketcap had to delist them... This is fact not all of them will survive

I doubt anything terrible will happen to them. They have their own capital, which reflects the price of each token. Even if they hold half the capital in bitcoins, it will only strengthen their position next to the leader.

I believe altcoin will survive as long as there is demand for them. I think altcoins has good demand for investment and so many people are invest in altcoin. I am believe that altcoin will survive and can compete with other coin. Many altcoin have good project and good dev. Some altcoin very profitable because movement in market more volatile than bitcoin. If you see on coinmarketcap you will see altcoin can gain until 100% in one day

i think, the position of altcoins is becoming only stronger. Bitcoin prices are falling now, so I hope that situation will change in interesting way
