Based on data from coinmarketcap is now available more than 1600 coins and tokens, and if viewed on various sites then there are more than 300 ICO until August, with the number of coins and tokens of course the competition is very tight, but I'm sure coin and tokens can last for they have a strong community.

some of them will survive i believe. i see a lot of their project have a future, it just depends on their team how they can grow his project.

Altcoins will survive simply as long as there is demand for them. Not to mention usually(but not always) other coin's prices go up and down along with bitcoin's price. Also take note that most coins aren't even competitors of bitcoin. Most coins have their own use-cases; not every cryptocurrency is made as a payment system or a store of value.

OP is right. Alt coins will keep on going as long as there is someone buying one. The thing is, there is always a demand for these things just like bitcoins. I agree with what is stated above that not all cryptocurrency are used for trading and are valued like the rest of them.
