All I can say is wtf? This cant be real.

If you lived in Belgium I would help you out but it is pretty impossible for me to help you from here.
Don't they have something like a ocmw in the usa? A place when you are in big financial shit they can help you out? The first months (or till you are back on your feet) your paycheck goes to them but they pay everything for you (electricity, water, phone,tv,internet etc), make sure you have a place to live, make sure you have enough for food and get to work.

And is that landlord not bound to any rules so he can't raise the rent and surely can't throw your personall stuff away and steal the thing with high value Huh
I surely would sue him for this.  Undecided

The only welfare program we have in Colorado for a single individual is foodstamps, I can't even get medical assistance.. Let alone a work/housing program...

I gotta be out of here right NOW. So I'll try and hop on a library computer later. Wish me luck, and if anyone can help, please do.

I see you're on Facebook.
Open up your privacy settings so that we can all see your friends list.  That way we can tell if we have any common friends or connections and maybe we can ask somebody in the area to give you a couch.

Did you get your cookware, computer and kitchen knives back from the landlord, or are they gone for good?

Your parents won't help you?
When my ex left me for another woman, she was staying at her hotel, and the cops got called while my daughter was there, since there were drugs and needles in the place, social services became involved. They took my daughter into custody, because I at the time was homeless (as I am now as of this morning) they opened a "dependency and neglect" (this is the generic name for any social services case) case. Once the case is opened a mandatory restraining order is put in place, allowing for contact with my daughter only through social services, meaning supervised visits. My parents are currently watching my daughter, and if I see my daughter without social service's supervision they'll put me in jail. I need to get back on my feet, and prove to them that my ex has nothing to do with me, mainly. Once I do that and assure them that my ex's actions and life choices in no way relate to or reflect my parenting ability the restraining order will be lifted.

I just wasted my last 5$ to get on here (stupid effing kinkos rent a computer, such a ripoff, 5$ for about 10 minutes) to try and see if anyone had sent me some money...
Now I'm SOL...

Please I'm begging for help, my paypal is skostemart@gmail.com

I'm now at the library, and they allocate 2 hours a day for free, I was so worried I wouldn't be able to get back on tonight. i found the cheapest hotel I could, it's $39.90 for one night, and I'm running out of time.

I see from your posts on another forum that you're a PHP developer.

This won't help you for tonight, obviously, but there are people on here willing to pay to get bitcoin-related projects done.  Look under Project Development or search on "bounty".

Go to your local Latter Day Saint Church / bishop, and ask for help.  The have lots of resources at their disposal.  Many people don't take advantage of them.

One off NP-Hard.

If you have the choice between taking charity from a friend or from a stranger, in my experience it's always best to pick the stranger first.

I know how to "hustle," but I'm done doing that, I've got a legitimate job, and thank god we're off now for the holidays, but that's my number one priority is maintaining my job. I don't really need advice on how to be homeless, because being homeless is a full-time job, that doesn't really coincide with legitimate employment. I NEED to keep this job, and that's the trouble I'm having, I was able to panhandle 35$ and talk the hotel owner into letting me stay last night, but I'm up in Denver now, and once again, I need to come up with some cash to keep myself afloat. I need to save up for a place, so I really can't do a payday loan, because if I do, I'm gonna blow my paycheck before I even get it. I've got a buddy who rents places, and as I believe I said before, he's agreed to let me stay there without deposit. Right now, I have a running buddy, like boondock saints, we're taking care of eachother, so that makes the housing situation a tad bit more difficult, trying to find someone who'll let both of us stay there. I've got.. 3$ right now and I need to come up with 40$ total for another night in a hotel, I know most of you guys can't afford to help, and I understand, but if you could pass it along, maybe post my plight on other websites, perhaps I can find some humanity left in this world.. I'm at the Denver library and I get 2 hours a day online, so my time is very limited. If 4 people did 10$, or 8 people with 5$, I would be all set. It's fine if you can't cover the whole thing, but if anyone is willing to help with anything, it'd be much appreciated. If I start back into the whole homeless hustle lifestyle, I'll be sealing my fate. Hustling is a 24/7 job, and it requires alot of time and energy that could be otherwise devoted to a job.

Wish me luck, and any amount of money would help me, even if it's 1$...

Did you get your cookware, computer and kitchen knives back from the landlord, or are they gone for good?
Per Colorado law, an illegal eviction is a civil matter, not a criminal, so even though I called the police as he was stealing and throwing away my shit, they showed up to tell me that they couldn't do anything. That if I had anything missing I would have to hire a lawyer and sue him. He also kept my 900$ damage deposit, and as I did no damage to the place I should have gotten that back as well, but alas he really screwed me.

My roommate at the time, this deadbeat piece of shit, helped him throw my shit away. He knew I was at the hospital with my ex, and still he was standing by as the landlord stole my shit and destroyed the rest of it. I took care of this asshole for almost 6 months, he didn't pay a DIME in rent, he was stealing my anxiety meds, he almost burned down the fucking apartment (He decided to take a bunch of my meds which he had stolen, and then make a pizza, he passed out on the couch and I woke up in a cloud of smoke, I walked into the kitchen where the smoke was 20x thicker, the fire alarm was blaring and he was still unconscious on the couch, literally 20 feet from the oven. I open the oven to find a charcoal briquette in the shape of a pizza. It was a perfect charcoal silhouette of the pizza, it was cool looking.) Apparently the story goes, while I was away from the house and he, my landlord had come into our place and searched my roommates room, he found 2 guns, a handgun and a shotgun, and stole them. He called my roommate and told him that he was keeping them until he helped destroy and steal my shit. (Apparently one of the guns was registered wrong or illegal in some fashion) So my roommate was right along side him throwing all my shit away, after I took care of literally his every need for 6+ months.. food, shelter, clothes etc..

The main story I've typed up, is merely just a summation, there's so many smaller details of other people taking advantage of me it's unbelievable.

Hey, you may be able to speak with some Denhac(Denver's hackerspace) members. Had been talking over IRC with them and it looks like someone could borrow you their couch. :/ That is the best option if you are desperate.
Also, here are some couches being offered(In denver):http://www.couchsurfing.org/mapsurf.html

Your story seems inconsistent.

Before you had to have a hotel because of your job. But now, you're up in Denver because you have some time off? So what's wrong with a shelter while you are waiting to get back to work?

How is what you are doing right now not "hustling" ? This is just begging instead?

So, you can't go to mom's house, but why can't mom send you $100 to get you to your paycheck ?
I told you man, they already stole my 3000$ tax return, they have no money either. I don't understand how there can be so many privileged kids in this world who don't understand what it's like to have parents who are completely broke.

I'm not concerned too much about where to stay during my time-off, my main issue is where I'll be staying when I have a job, I can go out and try and get cash right now for a hotel, by asking on the streets, and if I can't get help here, or somewhere else, that's what I'll have to do. As I also said, I have a running buddy, and we take care of eachother, so 20$ a person a night isn't TOO bad. Denver's an easier place to be homeless, there's more resources, and more places to get free food, not to mention the hotels are alot cheaper. Although I'm not familiar with the shelter up here, I hear it's quite bad, so if I were to stay at the shelter I'd head back down to boulder. I'm online asking for help to try and save up money so I don't have to dig into my paycheck when I get it, if I get really desperate, I'll get a payday loan and dig into that, but I fear if I do that, I'll put myself in a downward spiral of which I can't escape. If I HAVE to sleep outside, which I'd prefer not to, that's fine, it's just once I start back up work again, I need to make sure I can shower and have fresh clothing.

I'm not really "hustling" here, I guess you could call it begging.. I really don't like shelters, they're disgusting places filled with alcoholics and drug addicts, and I really want to use that as a last resort. Just because I'm in a bad situation doesn't mean I don't have pride, and I don't understand why I have to be judged because I like to keep respectable company. It seems if you're homeless you HAVE to live a certain way, you HAVE to goto the shelter, you HAVE to eat at the churches that'll feed you. If you try and ask for help finding alternate shelter, or asking for money for some real food people treat you like a selfish greedy bastard, when it's usually quite the other way around. I donno man... I think I'm gonna lose my job anyway, and I'm trying to find some work up here in Denver where I can actually get a job in my field, but I still need to keep a roof over my head.
The guy I'm rolling around with was in the army, he was deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's a shame... He fought for our country, was actually in combat situations.. But once you're homeless, it's a difficult struggle.. People take for granted the fact that they have houses... It's a major resource almost necessary to get a decent job. Once you lose it, you're kinda stuck, especially without a car.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/poker-forum/944109/poor_guy_needs_help.html

not much sympathy for you there...

you and your friend should both search couchsurfing for a bed. loads of people don't mind hosting there. but you must ask for 2 nights ONLY and then gtfo after those 2 nights.

i cant comment on craigslist or work... never really done those types of things (always had coding opportunities). although i've bummed it for fun a lot and don't agree with your assertion that sleeping rough is a full time job. Just go to a public toilet and wash under your armpits and face- then you won't smell like a stinky bum. Keep stuff in your locker (nice clothes for work) and wear one set of bummy (scavenged?) clothing. Seek out other cool people- hackers, anarchists, punks, squatters... you'll be fine around them since you're a programmer and they like those types.

Also, genjix. Your plan work and now he may be able to afford a hotel/food. Someone claim he send him 50 bucks.

Sorry, I don't cs. I was talking via IRC with some denhac hackers and dsockwell suggest it. Tongue

I had been researching it and might go cs in a near future. My parents won't allow it for the moment. Specially since I live in Mexico City and it has a fame. When I turn 18 and go to Europe/Asia I will be cs for sure!
