McDonalds to accept Bitcoin by 2018

Bitcoin as a payment method, can only contemplate with high end restaurants (fine dining) which doesn't require speed as customers intended to stay for a long period of time. Unlike with McDonalds, most of the people that go there were in a hurry. This will only be applicable if a branch has deliveries and the one who call (ordered the food) is willing to wait. But, if its done within the restaurant itself, then that will be a massive chaos. There will be a huge possibility that they will receive a lot of complaints from customers that couldn't get their food because of a delayed BTC payment.

if true this is good news. the possibility of btc will be widely known again and I also hope in my country like that.

This won't work really well. As you can see, Bitcoin is currently suffering super slow confirmation of transactions, because of its congested network. The more Bitcoin become popular and widely used, there will be a lot of transactions that will pile up to Bitcoin's blockchain, which will cause a massive chaos within the Bitcoin network. We know that McDonalds is a fast food restaurant with a fast pace style of environment and that is one of the reasons they became pretty popular, "Serving your food, seconds after you ordered". I couldn't imagine someone, ordering a food, handle his / her BTC payment, then will wait for a whole 30 minutes or worst 1 hour just to get the food because of an unconfirmed transaction. This might ruin what McDonalds has established.

Does that even make sense with the current transaction times and fees? You are going to pay more for the fees than for your meal. Unless the fees go down drastically, it makes no sense to use bitcoin as a daily payment method.

I agree, it would all be useless if the fees are bigger than the amount you will be paying in addition that transaction would take 1 week to confirm. Or at least they have different wallet option where we can send the payment.

That will be great. But, in fact the transaction fees needs to be reduced considerably before we can start using bitcoin as a normal currency. I hear somewhere eBay is going to integrate bitcoin payment in to its platform. But, there is very less chance for this news to be true. When this happen in the right and convenient way , then it will be a revolution.

Well soon not only few will aknowledge bitcoin as payment method i guess.. So many possibilities to haPpen especially now bitcoin nowadays getting viral and people get interested into even businessman/high profile individual involved now on bitcoin.

McDonalds will accept bitcoin as a payment but how about the fees, then? Even though it's convenient on our side but there are fees to be paid. So an order of McDonalds will give us a doubled amount if we are gonna use bitcoin as payment? Could this be possible though?

wow! that's great coz many bitcoin user will be benefitted from it like us who love to eat at McDonalds so it would be easier and hassle free for us and soon the other companies will just follow so bitcoin will be use as medium of exchange instead of using money.

It makes sense since we are now in a modernized world where every transaction is in online therefore it is a great beginning for us to adapt this kind of ways in buying online. Our goal is to make bitcoin acceptable in our country then it is a big step to make it possible.

This will be very great if bitcoin will used as currency to buy food and for those who are holding their coins or have coins in their wallets will enjoy a serious benefit of bitcoin and I think this should start soon and McDonalds is taking a great step and they will be pioneer in their field in adopting bitcoin and this is convention that pioneers get blessed more than others and by seeing footsteps of other franchises will come in.

This is certainly very wonderful idea, I sometimes visit mcdonald and it was two times when I forgot to take money with me and at that moment I could use payment method via bitcoins, because it's very convenient and it's impossible to lose bitcoins, unlike real money. Also mcdonald will bring great fame and success to bitcoins and even more people will be able to learn about bitcoins and start using them. So I think that this is great chance for bitcoin become even more powerful.

Bitcoin needs to lower their transactions fees for this to happen.  Otherwise another coin will be accepted.

Well I am not really agree with that. If you tell me any other company name I can consider but this bloody capitalist poisonous food seller is not. If you think about it blockchain is actually a movement against capitalism. I hope these guys will not put some dirt on it.

It is impossible for a company like macdonalds to accept btc for regular meals no doubt if they will let btc among their billing option what about us how we will pay the tax more than our bill that will be like paying a waiter more instead of paying for good food to the restuarant
