Just because a coin is under $1 doesn't mean it will have a great return or become bitcoins price all it mean is that it will have great volatility.

Many altcoins are available to invest bellow $1 price. my advice is to you investigate yourself and study about it, check there market cap and there project details,example reoadmaps, and how they delivery the products and is it great team behind the project etc... . Altocoin will give you better return investment.

There is new potential coin called CEDEX, it just listing on IDEX but it's not offcial listing, it will be listed in big exchange by middle of june.
And i think it will 3-5x price in a couple months.
This is a very good alts to hold, the price is around 0,4USD right now and the ICO price was around 0,8USD.

Depends how long you want to hold, but I'm long in Ravencoin.  I agree that a lot are tied to BTC right now, so some of the more popular ones may be able to move quicker in the short term (and long term perhaps), but getting in on the ground floor of some of the cheaper coins with great use cases and communities is another way to go about it.
