So many forks out of Bitcoin, each focusing and improving one or many aspects of it. It's commendable and a necessary step in scaling a great concept. Bitcoin will be replaced by one of these forks, question is which one. Many forks will have technological merits on their own, but those who manage to get a fast public adoption stand a better chance. Good luck dev.

Thank you for your words of support kabzeon, we really appreciate it.

Vietnam bitcin atom fans waiting fork!

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Interesting, what about future trading? Is it possible?

They've mentioned they would start with BTC and LTC atomic swaps, but I don't think futures would be some major technical issue to implement. I guess it could come at later stage.

why is this fork created?? for what purposes??

Hey aragon4ikSS, as per the ANN:

Bitcoin Atom (BCA) brings a truly decentralized way of digital asset exchange – with on-chain atomic swaps on board. By using built-in hash time-locked contracts (HTLCs) and its own HTLC API, Bitcoin Atom attempts to disrupt the way we exchange cryptocurrencies today, giving independence from intermediaries and any centralized entities.

We believe that most cryptocurrency trades should be conducted on-chain in a decentralized way, as per the original Bitcoin’s approach to transacting in a completely trustless environment.

Atomic Swaps (AS), currently implemented via HTLCs on-chain and potentially via Lightning Network (LN) off-chain, bring an ability to swap assets directly between blockchains without any intermediaries involved. This ability is called atomic cross-chain trading, and we propose the Bitcoin Atom’s support for it at its core, by bringing AS API and a set of cross-chain trading utilities into the original Bitcoin core software and forking it into BCA.

Bitcoin Atom’s AS model is expected to bring transparency to digital asset trading, as attempts to churn volume via on-chain atomic swaps will be detectable by passive observers. This means that users cannot show up with a small amount of coins and then create a ton of fake volume covertly.

BCA network is additionally secured by utilizing the so-called hybrid consensus: both PoW and PoS models are put in place, increasing network stability and reducing the power of miners, hence lowering the 51% attack probability. Despite having Proof-of-Stake in addition to Proof-of-Work, Bitcoin Atom is not inflationary in terms of emission as PoS only serves the goal of decentralizing network power. Max supply of BCA remains the same as of the original Bitcoin (21M).

Project's core values: Independence, Decentralization and Transparency.
it is the best explanation about this fork i read

I would like to warn everybody about this project. One of the admins on Telegram just tried to increase their legitimacy by claiming that anybody can study and check their source code, while in reality no such code is published, which another admin consequently admitted. Here is the proof:

Either the first admin knowingly and willfully lied or he is an idiot that doesn't know what he is talking about. Either way, you probably want to think twice if this kind of people is somebody you want to have anything to do with.

My list of 43(+3) reviewed Bitcoin forks | You don't have to download the pre-fork blockchain again for each fork! | Beware of fraudulent AWS accounts sellers and dangerous edu AWS codes! + My personal list of legit sellers and scammers | Never publicly reveal your btc addresses, ownership or any other details and stay very far away from anybody who asks you to! | The general rule of safe buying is: if the seller is a newbie, with no reputation, with no topic nor trust feedback, offering no vouches and/or selling from a locked or self-moderated topic and unwilling to go first or use escrow => AVOID. Always check the trust feedback first and make sure that you have enabled "Show untrusted feedback by default" in "Profile / Forum Profile Information".

You conveniently forgot to include the following reply to your claim in telegram:

We are not posting the BCA node code just yet because we have yet to announce the block number, and are not interested in people pre/post-mining. Please do not worry - full code will appear on Git in due time. Meanwhile calm your accusations - we are working very hard, as this is an extremely difficult fork as it implements hybrid consensus, atomic swaps & lightning network, which no other fork has.

In order to participate in the fork, simply keep your BTC in either wallets with a private key access (e.g. Coinomi) or exchanges which support BCA (e.g. OKEx).

We will publish new wallet/exchange partners in the coming days. Stay tuned for updates!

Swaps.org is Atomic Swap DEX and multi-chain self-custodial wallet for non-wrapped cryptocurrencies, i.e. BTC, XMR, BCA, ETH, ERC20 (DAI, USDC, USDT)
