ETH and IOTA. IOTA may be one of the top altcoins and is modeled after the Internet of things (IoT). It has come a long way in its price as well. Ethereum is amazing because it introduced their own Ethereum network, in which other people can create tokens based on it. It made it easier for developers to create their own tokens, because they don’t need to create an entire blockchain from scratch.

To these two you can add Ripple. Now, however, its price falls. But, I'm sure it's temporary thing. We’ll see how this technologically improved currency will rise again. Some talks that Ripple will beat Bitcoin with the time.

I would choose Ripple and  Ethereum. I think this is the two most promising and pesspective alternative crypto currencies. There are plenty of others but these two are the best.

IOTA and Monero looks unpumped yet in 2018. I think there's a decent chance they will moon in near future, ofc if Bitcoin rally does not happen sooner. SPHTX and TAU for lovers of fresh blockchain product. BIS has a chance to follow XRB. Masternode coins are usually a good investment, I've got a bag of Crave.

1) doesn't wait for to block to be mined in order to confirm tx, and therefore has truly instant transactions
2) has some sustainable retention policy, instead of keeping things in ever growing blockchain forever
3) with incentives to nodes, not just miners
4) with privacy similar to Monero
5) with functionality similar to ETH, but with ability to fix bugs in that functionality

Originally I would probably say Dash and Monero, but Dash has already had its run two weeks ago Dash would pause at current level for some time before advancing again. But Monero! Monero is still lacking behind BTC but a lot and if you look at its history you could be guaranteed its price would only rise against USD, very quickly, for sure!

Monero is looking good, but I wonder how much it headroom there is. It already had a pretty good run. Market cap is almost $4 billion now.

But I think Ripple is also very good looking for long-term investment. Its potential is huge for people who want to invest in altcoin. And still much more actually altcoin actually very good to invest.

TRX as the price will hit a dollar if ever it will happen hehehe and also
XLM as I see on the charts and the projects behind it
XRP is also a good coin and I doubled my income with this coin. despite of its bankster thingy I should give it a try and take advantage of price hyped because this coin is decentralized and has a news that it is connected to the banks hehehe. hopefully this coin make me rich again
