[XPM] Pool mining primecoin using DigitalOcean (VPS)

I tried this method on AWS but I couldn't get any PPS to show at all. It stayed at 0. I tried on multiple different systems as well. Suggestions?
I already have an account with AWS so I figured I'd go there. Shouldn't matter where I do this should it?

I had the same problem a few hours ago. It resolved itself. It just need some time to update. I think it took around 1 hour.

Which AWS instance are you using? I tried a few different ones and have had better results at DO. Even tried adding entropy... never got above 5.

I have 4 instances that currently has
a pps of: 49 - 36 - 17 - 18

they're fluctuating a lot though.

My experience is that "New York 1" server region has the best performance.

I had a rebate prepaid american express card with $7 left on it so I figured I would try this out. I configured them for LTC tho. I have 21 drops running all 8 core. I'm getting about 550kh/s total.

Idk if anyone realized but you can keep creating new accounts with the same debit card. The promo code works on them all too, $10 each account.

Also you have to type the code in to make it work, copy/paste doesn't activate the code oddly.

Also, if you do what I did use the ones out of amsterdam, for some reason I was getting bugged ones in the US, it wouldnt give me an IP and just sit there saying its new but not activated. The amsterdam ones worked every time.

Would you share your PPS on the 8-core? Thanks.

In order to generate random numbers or cryptographic keys the program uses random seeds. On bare metal /dev/random is overflowing with noise from device drivers, sources of entropy. In a VM a program may have to wait during execution for the randomness pool to refill. There are a few different approaches to this, the one I've tried is haveged.

According to SunnyKing, the PPS is not indicative of mining performance.  But I guess it's all we have..

FYI, signing up for multiple accounts using the same billing information is against their Terms of Service. You may lose access to your account and whatever XPM you've mined.

Delete the droplet and try again from the directions.....

I had one droplet that had issues like that and strange enough nothing would fix it.

Ok, I mined for 24 hours now on my droplet. No problems there. But I wanted to update the client with the fix sunny posted and I get this error while compiling:

g++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus)

I made a swapfile and it didn't help. Any ideas?

This error means you do not have enough ram and it blew up during the compile. Try editing the make file and remove -O2  (Requires 2GB of ram)

(or maybe compile it on another machine and sftp it over)
