The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

BTC has now hit $200 USD + ($225 USD on MT.gox) so, hurra, mission accomplished.

Don't use Mt. Gox for checking the bitcoin price Tongue
Why not use the MtGox price. Often CampBX and Btc-e are $20 or more lower. So check them all. Then buy low and sell high. Could have a little business going there, between the spreads on a couple major exchanges. I mean, as long as you are going to hold the Btc no matter where it goes, why not play a little?

You will have trouble with withdrawing USD from MtGox.
Your not first to try this

On the short term BTC will fluctuate, bubbles will come and go. On the long term, I think it's a good investment because there will only be 21 million bitcoins issued ever, and the demand will only increase over the coming years, as the popularity of the bitcoin increases. Limited supply and ever increasing demand will drive the price up. You can speculate and ride the waves of the bubbles to make some extra money (and lose some), but you will do just as well by buying and holding on to them forever. Never panic when the price goes down, just forget about it and come back a month later, it will be back up again. As someone stated earlier, emotions and trading don't go well together. Just buy and hold. It's boring but will pay out well in the end.

I doubt this. But you never know, maybe Amazon add it as a payment method. In fact, it would be ideal for foreign users to pay with BTC, once they have some BTC of course  Wink

I highly doubt it. The price won't drop that low again unless any important country bans btc by law. That however might hinder growth to 1000 quite a lot.

Bitcoin may reach $1,000, whether that is 5 months or 5 years from now is anyone's guess.  For the short time it has existed, the price has risen steadily (with bubbles and corrections of course) but the slope still points upwards.

Banning by law could drive big attention to BTC. Afterall most govs trying to restrict internet, but everytime it happens, it gets attention to a lot people because they want freedom

What use is a signature?

I think the next step will be $250/BTC and eventually 1 BTC = 1 OZ GOLD!! 2-3 years.
