A related (and not trolling) question... I just tried out hsrminer on a Windows 10 machine with a single GTX 1080 and Neoscrypt went from around 1040 kH/s with ccminer-klaust to 1230 kH/s - a sizable improvement more than worth the devfee. However, moving the exact same card over to a Windows 7 machine resulted in an average speed of about 1130 kH/s while ccminer-klaust still does around 1040 kH/s. Granted, hsminer still handily beats ccminer-klaust, but what could cause the drop in hashrate? The Nvidia drivers are the same on both machines, the amount of RAM is the same - 16GB - but the Windows 10 machine has an AMD FX-8300 CPU while the Win7 machine has an AMD Phenom II x4 955 (a generation older).
I'm guessing I need to tweak intensity on the Win7 machine, but it would be nice to know what the current intensity is so I don't have to go through a laborious iterative search.
ccminer alexis cuda 7.5 sp-mod build does 1360h/s on the gtx 1070. This miner is pure crap. With latest driver? Or you need to install some ancient shit? |

What's the 1080 Ti performance? I don't care about chip or OC settings, interval from-to is fine. |

I currently have the intensity set to 3, and just restarted the miner because I noticed the hashrate had dropped from ~1300 to ~1100 for no good reason; this was with -i 2 set, though not sure that has anything to do with it. I wasn't doing anything with the computer at the time, either - it mainly just runs this one miner for now.
EDIT - so after ~1 hour of running at -i 3 the hashrate once again precipitously dropped from ~1300 to ~1150. I'm going to restart again - and kick the intensity up a notch - to see if this is consistently occurring after 1 hour. GPU temp has been steady at 65C, so it isn't an overheating issue, either.

Lol, not the most diplomatic of responses, but I'll give ccminer alexis a try next anyway. EDIT - Trying it now, and if it is the version available from here - https://github.com/sp-hash/ccminer/releases - then it sucks donkey balls; I'm getting about 365-385 kH/s, so about 1/3rd even the KlausT variant of ccminer. can you read? he wrote its SP_ MOD ... its premium miner for 0,05btc (or 0,1?) and btw, now tested ... instead of 8,5MH on rig with 6*70ti i have only 3MH .... |

I'm fairly new here so I'm not familiar with all the famous and legendary personalities yet. No real harm done, though, so let's leave it at that. Anyway, sounds like you got very similar results with your 1070Ti rig as I did with a single 1080; I'm guessing that version of ccminer isn't the one that sp_ is selling for 0.05 btc or whatever... |

I just noted that your rig dropping from 8.5 MH/s down to 3 MH/s was similar to my GTX 1080 going from about 1200-1300 kH/s down to around 385 kH/s using that version of ccminer that sp_ may or may not have been claiming was superior. In other strange news concerning hsrminer, reported hashrate once again drops precipitously after 1 hour of operation. This is really bizarre/fishy. Also, there seems to be no difference in maximum hashrate whether intensity is set to 2, 3 or 4 - at least on my setup. |

Sure seems like some shenanigans going on here.

I had -i 4 set, but nothing for the -c switch. I am running a slightly different OC profile - +140 core, +300 mem, 85% TDP - but that shouldn't affect results too much. |

That's what I thought at first, too, so I decided to let hsrminer continue running for over an hour longer and the hashrate didn't change - once it dropped down to ~1150-1170 it stayed there until I restarted it. I'm currently trying -i 5 and -c 4 as suggested by dragonmike; as of now it's been running ~50 minutes so I should have an answer in the next 10-15 minutes. EDIT - so far the hashrate is stable after more than 1 hour of operation so once again dragonmike saves the day! EDIT2 - still stable at around 1310. |
