looks like someone's got their hands on it: http://cryptobro.com

Could be mtrlt testing it himself?
Or a clever troll.
I would imagine that he will have to mine some blocks himself in order to test it out.  At the same time I'm hoping he can give us a status update soon Smiley
+1

Pls let us know what is the status Mtrlt.

Thanks.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Pls let us know what is the status Mtrlt.

Public status updates are of more value for competitors rather than for customers (err... well, donators). Perhaps Mtrlt informs about his progress privately, avoiding posting here.

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

Obviously when this thread goes quiet and there are "Wink" going around we can put 2 and 2 together. I don't have enough GPUs to make a 1BTC donation profitable, but I'm still curious as to how good the GPU miner really is.

While possible, that isn't really definitive proof of anything. Just run this to see what I mean:

Code:
strings -n 20 ~/.primecoin/blocks/blk00000.dat | tail -n 20

Do you seriously expect after 30 pages of this garbage that anybody is going to fall for that absurd ploy?

Just wait for the miner to actually be released in closed beta. Then people who were silent will appear with a miner for sale.

Yes, it's in there:

Code:
$ strings -n 20 blk00000.dat | tail -10
,Olviretki Schleusingenissa kansannayttamo.fi
*Being the Royal Discordian Kilted Hacksmen
4We build websites for primecoin: www.waspdigital.com

!100% naturally grown prime chains
"All hail king sunny"
"All hail king sunny"
"All hail king sunny"
"All hail king sunny"
=This block was mined with mtrlt's GPU miner version 0.01 Beta

But given that it's possible to put anything in there, there's no reason to believe that it's real.

From a developer I'd expect testing on testnet first. But...
Code:
$ strings -n 20 ~/.primecoin/testnet/blocks/blk00000.dat
L]Sunny King - dedicated to Satoshi Nakamoto and all who have fought for the freedom of mankind

Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.

That was the default string in his code and was assigned to the first block that was created.  If you read the code you will see what i am talking about.  And everyone knows that you need to create the genesis block to start the chain.  So i don't think that he did anything wrong.
