If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

With luck and big investments equal to $20-50 thousand during 10 years, you might get $1 million. However, you could lose everything, cause the market is new and volatile!

What approximately the currency that you will use to invest in crypto? Yes, why not right? You just have to put hardwork at all means. Well, wayback before you could only buy a 1 box pizzas with 10 pieces of bitcoin, well, I just read about it. Imagine, if you hold your 10 bitcoin till now, and just save and save and save what you get wayback before upto to the time when bitcoin would just spike it up back to its peak, million dollars would be possible. If one million gets divided by 10,000$  that is probably a hundred times. So granting it is possible it will be around 100 times the current price. So that if we have ethereum at around 500$, it should be priced at 50,000 dollar which might be a bit close to realization if we are to consider even the slightest chance of possibility. But note also that ethereum and other coins is always tied to bitcoin there is this chance that bitcoin will also increase with ethereum. So multiplying the price of bitcoin estimated roughly to be 6000 dollar, we might see a 600,000 dollar bitcoin price. In this analysis now I could see that the slightest chance could be gone. This is quite impossible but still who knows if ethereum could break the bond of influence with bitcoin and continues with a market different from bitcoin and other alts.

I'm not sure it can be done by top20 Altcoin. But on good coins and newly created, say with merketcap range $ 25-50M, with the right moment it will be done within 1-2 years.
