@Spots

You should let Hydropunka post in here, where's your sense of humor?

~BCX~

It's Vlad that can't. I welcome Hydro. Please don't mention Vlad's name again in this thread, though.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Isn't this coin a 70 sec confirmation? The re-target is broken, methinks.  Roll Eyes

I hit it with a modified ArtZForz (rip bro) TT Exploit at block 37, I don't think it recovered.

Bummer Sad

~BCX~

Interesting, can you elaborate more on that? or point to a link for a detailed explanation?  Smiley

What are people cloning all these scamcoins from? i thought someone claimed a while back that litecoin fixed the timetravel exploit, are people ripping out the fix to put their own new too clever for their own good difficulty-adjustment schemes in there or is litecoin actually still vulnerable to those attacks?

You sure the github source is valid? I just compiled it and started, but I'm seeing a lot of mess on the debug.log about the blockchain:

InvalidChainFound:  current best=b0905ab36adbe7c0894b  height=0  work=1048592  date=07/14/13 01:48:10

You got the right genesis on github? I've got all the addnodes from post #1, but it's not picking up the active blockchain with ~50 blocks.

Edit:

those are the peers I've found so far:
./spotsd getpeerinfo|grep addr
        "addr" : "70.69.238.84:4588",
        "addr" : "71.187.248.95:4588",

Interesting, can you elaborate more on that? or point to a link for a detailed explanation?  Smiley

The Time Travel Exploit was first deployed in June 2011 by that genius kid ArtForz.

It's been well covered here in the forums. Most coins including Litecoin are "immunized" against the original, I've simply mutated it where it will work on scrypt chains at low net hash rate,i.e. less than 100 MHS. This was the first successful deployment of it since 2011 and in this form. One of the major requirements for it to work is really fast target time.

Nothing special, but with a little tweaking, it might be  Wink

~BCX~

Looks like we made history together, then.

What is the attack? Is it related to this? http://culubas.blogspot.com/2011/05/timejacking-bitcoin_802.html
I've tried googling "bitcoin time travel exploit", but I mainly find unrelated news articles about bitcoin or exchange exploits, or other mentions of it with no details.

Not if the pool is hit with a DDOS it wont LOL....

~BCX~

You should help out and load up some solo miners to try to get the big block. Help spread the hashrate out, too. Use your powers for good

You guys need better DDOS protection, that was just a minor slap.

~BCX~

I hope the pool op saw your post. It made the website flicker but mining never switched to my fail over.
