I'm sure bitcoin will always increase with the the most high-value prices this year $20000 hopefully this will accompany a beautiful Christmas day for all.

Most people are now busy preparing for Christmas. Buying gifts, attending parties, etc. I myself did a lot of profit taking to be able to celebrate the holidays in style. Would love to give bitcoins as a gift.

It's true that some people will sell bitcoins or at least some satoshies to have some extra money for the holidays. But I don't think that would be such big amount to influence the demand and supply ratio and the price in some significant way. So, I don't expect some huge price drop and disturbance on the market, usual volatility and nothing to panic for.
Regarding the gifts, some bitcoins as a gift would make me very happy too.  Grin

That's the theory, but the fact bitcoin price still increasing by the end if the year, despite the fact that many people sell bitcoin for Christmas party, buy gifts, foods, etc. What makes the price declining? Simply because the network can't afford current transactions, too much unconfirmed transactions and ridiculous high fee to be paid, the mempool just stuck at this point. And there are some options to invest or use it to move the funds without having a problem such as in bitcoin, there are bcash, eth, dash, and litecoin as better coins, just to allocate the funds before getting back to bitcoin again. Don't worry, it just the time matter until bitcoin rise again.

I was just wondering, to those experts on bitcoin, because I have seen that bitcoin suddenly lay low in going up, and now even plunges.  I needed your opinion.

Does Christmas or any holidays affects bitcoin?
Please elaborate. Thanks a lot

I think yes, bitcoin price affects the approching Christmas season since everyone are greatly needed some cash so they need to cash out their btc so that they can have some money for any Christmas expense.

It could be that people break the piggy bank to buy gifts for others or themselves, but given that most people are in it in the hopes that it keeps going up, it might be too many.

Well christmas is just around the corner so somw people will sell their bitcoin to get money and celebrate christmas in style some traders are just taking advantage in all of these price surge to sell their cheap bought bitcoins into a higher price. But i think the amount of people selling they're bitcoin's in holidays would not affect the market that much so price would not drop much it will only be the usual volatility.

I think the reason behind the price drop today is not because of the holiday season but because of the mass panic surrounding BCH and ETH since their price today is shooting up fast. The Christmas season does nothing to help decrease the price of each bitcoin because price point suggests that many investors would let go of their bitcoins not a cheaper price, but on a higher price point since a lot of people have a lot of moneu of Christmas, thus allowing them to invest their moneu on the hyped bitcoins.

Bitcoin value are affected by the demand of the people and yes, Christmas does affect bitcoin demand. It would be that bitcoin users are selling their bitcoin in order to buy some Christmas present or use it to celebrate.

roger verr and his team are trying to find opportunities from the end of the year and especially christmas to manipulate the price, the general holders will greet with panic because they want to sell their bitcoin for holiday needs, besides the traders are also trapped in the hype that requires quick profit using bch interconnected globally.

first of all it is pretty normal for bitcoin to drop or pump because of volatility and other factors like demand and supply. holidays like christmas doesnt really have a direct effect to bitcoin. however events like this can drive the demand of bitcon to decrease because people would likely sell off their coins because they need money to prepare for this special day but of course not all people will do it because there were still die hard hodlers that will still prefer to hold their coins rather than spending it.

I think Christmas season has a little effect on bitcoin price since many people now need money so they sell some of their bitcoin to earn their profit resulting to increasing number of supplies of bitcoin thus the bitcoin price is decreasing. Just my opinion.

I hope this Christmas there is a special gift from bitcoin which I will receive from my work.

I do not have an experienced yet if christmas season affects price of bitcoin. I had joined in this bitcointalk last November 27, 2017 only. But i'm also hoping that they give incentives or just to make the value of bitcoin higher in christmas and new year.

Many people will be possibly sell their bitcoins in this season because there are many items that can be bought in low price but there are also people who wanted to buy bitcoins in order to gain a profit after this season.

It's obvious, Christmas i a very big occasion to celebrate once in a year. People need money to enjoy the Christmas party and to buy gifts. Thee will be some impact for few days, might be till new year. After that, it will go up as there is lot of demand for bitcoin.

Its the case with most Markets, people sell their holding before holidays. But, for cryptocurrency it could be different as its a world currency. I would suggest to go through charts for bitcoin over the years and try figure.

This christmas is very special on this regards as BTC has its highest historical price, with the price it reached I was expecting to see a more hectic behavior though.
