BTCGUILD has announced this: "Since all other outlets are announcing this even though it was not supposed to happen until August 1, yes, USB Block Erupters are having a price cut!
USB Block Erupters are now on sale at 0.60 BTC per device (free shipping to US). A huge number of units are en route, which will clear the backorder, and leave roughly 1,000 units available for next day shipping by August 1.
If you ordered an Erupter at 1 BTC, all is not lost yet. A coupon program is being initiated by ASICMINER and distributed by BTC Guild. 30% of the units sold at 1 BTC will be eligible to purchase a 2nd unit for 0.10 BTC (+0.05 Shipping/Handling). The exact method of coupon distribution will be announced when coupon units arrive, which should be around August 5th."
I've setup #15 at .55 btc: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263577.0
regarding .10, I will follow the expected coup distribution, per manufacturers parameters. Once it is available, those eligible will be notified with redeeming instructions. Folks, my message box is getting full of requests regarding this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg2794058#msg2794058
My response: "i don't get involved with rumors Being a re-seller, ofcourse I would follow manufacturers requests and promos, once anything is officially announced."
If you PM/email me questions regarding this, I will not answer but defer to the manufacturer.
Hope you understand.
Thanks!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

If pricing is changed by friedcat, my pricing will be adjusted accordingly. Any promos that AsicMiner MAY offer will be handled by me as well. Keep up the great work AsicMiner.

okay I purchased in:
group 10 group 11 group 12 group 13
I believe a grand total of 36 sticks. So if rumor is true I would be able to get 36 sticks at a discount. If this is true I am right on it. It would be very good news indeed.

Not really very good new. Just ASICminer want to keep the game on. Think about it, 1 month ago you put 1BTC into USB miner, your estimated time getting that back is about 170 days. Now you put 0.6BTC into it, your estimated time getting that back is about 125 days. So it's not really good news, but just better than not getting it.

If this is true, Canary will be swimming in BTC. He can order as many as he has money for at .1 and then resell them to new customers for the list price... that is, if 100% of previous customers won't redeem the discount for themselves. But I am not mad at that.

Did I miss an announcement? I can read Chinese so I saw resellers in China's most popular internet market place taobao.com are selling the USB sticker at 0.6BTC and returning buyer can buy it 0.1BTC for each of the USB miner they have bought (I will have my friends in China to contact the seller about it because I bought some USB miner though him in the early days). http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fitem.taobao.com%2Fitem.htm%3Fid%3D18721662711Another reseller also said: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fttbit.sinaapp.com%2Ft%2F50I think the 0.1BTC thing is almost sure. But you need to contact friedcat for that, I think it's very complicated job for you if it's true because you have to record and count how many USB miner each person bought from you. I can only say it's really a lot of work to be a reseller in this case. Thank you for organizing those groupbuys even though you earn some fortune in them.

Wow! Are these resellers legit or are they selling the usual Chinese knockoffs? I remember a thread with official resellers. Will group buy organizers have the same status? As said this will kill further activity as guys wait for the lower pricing. If true, Canary you have another opening for a packer? Canary will need one! he has sold about 5500 sticks! 36 to me that would mean 36x .1 = 3.96 btc for 36 sticks! even with a tack on of .34 btc to ship and handle it would come to 4.3 btc. by the way this is absolute brilliance by ASIC MINER. IF IT IS TRUE!!

Sounds good. If its true. ROFL @ BKCoins and Big Picture mining!! All that money on R&D only to have FriedCat pull the rug from under them. They dropped the price to BTC0.53 but that's still more then this RUMORED BE price will be.
BTC0.6 + BTC0.1 = BTC0.7 for 2 pieces ?

.01 for past buyers would make for a lot of very loyal customers for ASICminer as well as any resellers who honor it and pass along the savings to their past buyers. It would also quiet the people saying that buyers of these will never get ROI.
It almost sounds too good to be true. Watching and waiting for Friedcat to make an announcement.
.1 not .01 LOL! But truthfully I can see the math in it working. One) this will make btc price move up I can get 36 sticks for 3.96 btc come hell or high water I will want 4btc canary sold 5500 sticks yes that is only 550 btc plus shipping but other people sold 3000 sticks so that is a real need for about 850 btc two) if you can sell a pair of these on ebay for 150 bucks you will turn profit. three) ebay kits of 10 sticks and a anker hub for 750 would be a hot seller. four ) at .6btc for a new buyer these start to look much better then a jally from bfl even if bfl catches up with jallys. five) bfl has shipped june july august sept oct and some of nov in jallys only. so this move will hurt them with new jally orders

there is also a chinese shop online selling them for 0.6 and probably 0.1 for follow up orders....the whole new sales policy is still a mess...you either give the same prices for all resellers or you dont...you cant just give others better prices and the rest left out...we ll see how it goes the following days

Oh, mining is like punishing yourself, everyone here throws cash at rumors, websites, and 3D models hoping that company X will deliver Y, which has ###TH/s hashrate (that sounds kinda good right now), problem is it'll show up in two months. And as it turns out, next week, and every week after that, company X + timePassed will suddenly hit the market with promises that sound as good if not better. I heard about BTC years ago, I got into it right when AsicMiner started putting hardware online. I realized very quickly that you have to find your niche in this market and that late adopters are more or less screwed unless you get lucky. At the same time, I'm not complaining, this is a microcosm of life and gives a pretty good look at the fact that some folks win big (like AsicMiner) while most lose hard. The fact that anyone with $1M USD can totally f' with BitCoin is both the most exciting thing about trading and the worst possible thing for any form of mainstream adoption. The system is so flawed that the gold rush is still on - long-term sustainability has yet to be proven. But we keep coming back for more. It's fun for geeks like us.

I should have been more specific. I meant where can I get these for .1 BTC, I guess it's still just a rumor though...Unless it isn't... Even if the rumor is true, you can't get them for 0.1 unless you already paid 0.99 for them. The rumor is a price of 0.6 in general and repeat customers can get X at 0.1 where X is how many they bought at 0.89/0.99. However, at the moment you can't get them for 0.6 except maybe for some used devices. Until Friedcat makes an announcement, price is still 0.89/0.99 (customers with 1000+ orders get the discount).

If this is true, Canary will be swimming in BTC. He can order as many as he has money for at .1 and then resell them to new customers for the list price... that is, if 100% of previous customers won't redeem the discount for themselves. But I am not mad at that.
I would even say that Canaryinthemine has no obligation to allow follow up orders just because ASICMINER has changed the "rules" of purchase. All Canaryinthemine did was sell block Eruptors for a fixed price.

All Canaryinthemine did was sell block Eruptors for a fixed price. False. Major false. Canary and all other GO leaders have profited off of the system that was setup, but without the people buying GO's would not exist. Risk/reward. That said, if I ordered 100 units from someone and then they can turn around and, because of my units, purchase 100 more at a 90% discount and sell them at any price they want, I cry foul. Yes they have no obligation, but if that were the case I would never join another GO for any of the folks I've purchased them from and I'm sure most community members feel the same. But, that's all FUD. I trust the people I ordered from and I trust that they will make good to their customers.

Wow. If this is true, that it is only for Chinese resellers, which it appears to be since Friedcat is silent about it, ASICminer will be losing a lot of loyal customers. I personally don't believe that the biggest US seller can not get a answer from Friedcast or ASICminer. The question is why is he keeping us in the dark?

Could very well be a regional release to ensure they'll have stock for the demand, or waiting on finalized news about new blades before making announcement, who knows. All we have are rumors, nobody is getting screwed on anything (yet) so we don't have to borrow pitchforks from the BFL haters... yet.

I personally don't believe that the biggest US seller can not get a answer from Friedcast or ASICminer. The question is why is he keeping us in the dark? You mean CanaryInTheMine? I do not think he would have started this thread if he was trying to keep us in the dark. Sales of these USBs are stalled because of these rumors. Meanwhile the value of the USBs in terms of BTC goes down with each increase in difficulty. Allowing rumors of preferential treatment of Chinese resellers to go without comment is tantamount to affirming the rumors. Friedcat needs to realize that silence is not always golden. I wont name name, or names of who i was speaking of. But there are very few main sellers in US. Do you honestly believe the main one has not had talks with Friedcat and knows a lot more? If you want to speak of Canary who you mention he specifically says "i don't get involved with rumors" not that he does not know the answer to the rumor.

Which is the respectable thing to do. AM is represented by FriendCat, so it is up to FriendCat to verify, squash, be silent, or post an announcement. Until there is something on paper for everyone to see, even if agreements are being made behind closed forum PM's, people are free to do as they please. I put in an order for 20 erupters on GO#14 and didn't cancel when I heard the rumor start spreading. If everything pans out well, that's 20 more I can get at a deep discount. If they don't, it is the last 20 I got before the BTC price went up to a point that they're not affordable anymore. Friends buying them has slowed down and it looks like people are gutting one another on prices on other venues, so if resale potential is also gone then I can only hope the rumors are true, otherwise no more hardware for most folks until anyone else is shipping.

Wow. If this is true, that it is only for Chinese resellers, which it appears to be since Friedcat is silent about it, ASICminer will be losing a lot of loyal customers. I think everyone needs to calm down a peg. Not only is it entirely possible that the Chinese resellers are NOT directly involved with ASICMINER but rather just selling their own privately manufactured USB Eruptors since the Avalon/Asicminer chips are now available and the USB Eruptors design is publicly available, but it is also possible or even likely that ASICMINER simpley haven't made the announcement as they are still busy shipping orders etc. I have dealt with Canaryinthemine several times and I can pretty much guarantee that is is definitely not keeping any information from anyone. People also need to remember that is the rumors are true this still does not mean that Canaryinthemine has any obligation to sell 0.1 USB miners. I am not so sure I would even want to package, ship and handle THOUSANDS of very small orders with little to no profit just because ASICMINER decides to change the cost of future products. Everyone, including myself purchased a product for a price. Not a future product or promise of one.

Agreed, you should expect to pay the same markup he is currently charging for shipping and handling. .14/ unit for orders under 10 and lower handling fees for large orders would be fair in my opinion. Of course, this is assuming the rumors are true.

I am selling those, my average selling price is around 120. Consider the 12% fee selling on ebay I have 108. However, I used the USB to mine the BTC for like a month. The net profit is through mining, not for selling it. You need to have a strategy selling on ebay. And selling on ebay can transfer a risk of difficulty increase to the buyers. Do not tell ebay buyer about this. Game on.

Selling for 0.99 BTC is not a great idea, but those who bought BTC in the $70-80's are still making a little profit.
Also, I admire Canary for getting the groups together and being the point-man for these in the US. He has been honest, quick to ship and pass on the best pricing he can. Anyone over 500 units get 0.89 pricing from ASICminer/friedcat. Plus, all orders over 50 get 2% redundancy/extra miners included. So for every 100 units, the people facilitating the group buys get 2 "extra" miners. Whether they keep them for personal mining, sell them as part of their offerings or whatever; I see it as a reward for the risk and effort of the group buy. Plus they are still on-the-hook for any malfunctioning miners, although I've not heard of any significant amount.

Thanks! Yeah, these are not a "reward" in any sense, they are for warranty replacements... sometimes 2/100 is not enough but I still handle warranty anyways.

Has anyone actually calculated what an Errupter in hand would need to sell for to be profitable? I bought one at 270 Euro and am at 15 Euro or so in 5 weeks or there abouts! I just see them as a novelty and to help the network. To buy 3Gh for 1000 is just not worth it right now, though with BFL still behind on the Jalapenos it is a bit amusing. Now, if they drop the price to 100 dollars for 3Gh, then they will sell like Hotcakes. Can you imagine buying, right now 30 Gh for 1000? I think that is possible. Come on Chinese

If you are interested in investing in a project involving custom low cost ASIC and miners you might want to check out Labcoin. I am assisting in the IPO on btct.co and Labcoin is aiming to raise $600k for a already developed and in production low cost/high efficiency 130 nm ASIC chip that will result in highly competitive miners for sale to the public, as well as 65 nm development and Bircoin mining. We expect the IPO to be ready for vote and public release shortly. You can find information on the project under the custom hardware forum and soon under the securities thread.

I'd like to know what Luke-Jr has to say about Labcoin...

All Canaryinthemine did was sell block Eruptors for a fixed price. if a promo rebate is give by asicminer to previous buyers it should be passed along especially when up till today they are selling for .94btc and next week they are .60 or less... this is the best thing asicminer could do is reward customers for buying now rather than be scared of another price break.... plenty of people got burned with the 2btc -> 1btc price drop when they could only have mined about .5btc between the initial release and drop. theres plenty of profit margin still left as in $5-10k per group buy which is well deserved for his service so lets pass along any promos... and yes its a GB not a merchant style format any 'credits' should flow through to the original buyers

Some loser on eBay UK was selling them for £225 last week. I still see them for sale there. I bought a few around £120 a few weeks ago, and one yesterday for less than £100. I see the seller has them up at £80 now. Yeah, £225. He didn't appreciate me telling him how over-priced he was either...

I sold 9 at £117 last Wednesday on ebay - now I still have the best BIN price at 84 + 9 postage - sold 2 yesterday and 1 today. Margin for profit has dived - I'm hoping for the 0.1 per unit rumor to be true - that'll be the only way I end up with a profit on these.

Actually, now would be the time for someone to speak up. We have one group buy now at .55, another one opening soon. I know for a fact I *just* purchased from someone who is now offering a lower price, so it'd be awesome to get some clarification.
friedcat has not made official announcement. He has however let myself order units in advance at a new lower price. I was waiting for friedcat to make official announcement but will now start my group buy at the best prices as Canary has started a lower priced group buy. Please PM me if you need 50 or more and your transaction will remain private. My customers have been poached/spammed by other resellers in these forums and I will have no more of it. I can offer the best deals, just give me a chance. Thank you. Sincerely, SilentSonicBoom

Yeah, real weird seeing half the rumour come true but silence on the 0.1 repeat offer. I would imagine many buyers are repeat and are unlikely to buy more until this is cleared up. The community really needs a Yes or No on this to put us out of our misery! If it's BS please just tell us so we can move on.

The exact method of coupon distribution will be announced when coupon units arrive, which should be around August 5th."I've setup #15 at .55 btc: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263577.0regarding .10, I will follow the expected coup distribution, per manufacturers parameters. Once it is available, those eligible will be notified with redeeming instructions.

Better question - what are the qualifications and when will folks be notified? Since people can order at the new price, I'd assume there is fair knowledge of what discount is being given to whom. Otherwise the ~1BTC purchasers are at a disadvantage as to whether or not they should order, which is not good for a returning customer (or good for customer loyalty).

Please pm me when you have this notification.

Straight from newbie-camp to accusing a reputable reseller of scamming? There is a slight reduction in credibility there. If those actually are real PMs post a screenshot as that is slightly more effort to forge and will give you a little more backing to your claim as opposed to typing something and saying it was a PM that may or may not have happened. Also, if "blacklist" includes "ignore" he wont even see your posts anymore .

So, have any group buy operators heard if they will be able to reorder USB miners for .1 BTC like BTCGuild is offering?
It would suck if the group buy administrators are not allowed to have the same deal as BTCGuild. It screws all the people that bought from group buys and unfairly rewards everyone that bought from BTCGuild...

Roast cat aka Friedcat clearly set the guideline as:
"If you previously purchased a USB client, you can redeem the price to 0.1BTC USB mining machine, one for one, at 0.1BTC Please and old customers to buy their own pace reseller of consultation"
This 30% thing I don't know where it comes from until the official announcement but from the Chinese resellers this is a direct translation.

So, have any group buy operators heard if they will be able to reorder USB miners for .1 BTC like BTCGuild is offering?
It would suck if the group buy administrators are not allowed to have the same deal as BTCGuild. It screws all the people that bought from group buys and unfairly rewards everyone that bought from BTCGuild...
all re-sellers are waiting on stock and instruction (how and who gets it) from the manufacturer... you all need to hold your horses and wait till friedcat makes the announcement on who, what, when, where, how etc... Yo Canary...it's been hours now! What's da word? These horses ain't gonna keep much longer

I don't wany to buy a .55 today if I can possibly buy at .1 tomorrow... On top of that, how much will the people who can buy at .1 BTC (one for one) pull the price down even further? The problem right now, even at current prices, is that the Mining sticks won't break even. I wonder at price one could even make a profit? The difficulty is rising quickly. I bought one at 270 Euro and saw the price drop to 150 Euro 3 days later. So, it is a bit risky from experience. I don't mean to spread FUD, but when the price drops so drastically and the profitability is still not reachable, one should think twice. Now, if BTC can get up to 150-200 dollars then perhaps things change, and quick...

BTC price is totally irrelevant. If that is what makes your money back, you could have just kept your BTC and had the same gains. ALWAYS ALWAYS calculate your returns in BTC, never dollars.

part of the eBay sales satisfies demand for those who do not have btc to spend but rather dollars.
People who pay with dollars may actually make an ROI on them. As their mined BTC gains in value and USD goes down thanks to Uncle Ben. Of course they'd have done better buy just buying BTC and holding it. But where's the fun in that?

It really depends on your perspective. We are paying in $$$, at least a lot of us are (to buy the BTC), so we have to weigh the odds. I wouldn't say it is so cut and dry, after all, my opinion varies from yours but I can see your perspective. I can agree with trigeek, probably buying BTC is the best bet, unless you can buy a lot of Gh for cheap. But, there is something to helping the network and having fun mining. I mean when you have a hobby, how often do you even have a chance to make your money back? Maybe with Metal detecting and fishing. But the money isn't #1 I can agree. Ahhh, I feel better now.

The only time it doesn't work is using completely stored/mined BTC ^^

ALWAYS ALWAYS calculate your returns in BTC, never dollars. This statement is only true when leverage ratio = 1. In other words, if you buy a miner for 1 bitcoin and it's net production before it obsolesces is one bitcoin, you are even money and did the work for free. If you buy a miner for 1 bitcoin and net production is 3 bitcoins before obsolescence, this is a leverage ratio of 3. In this case, you have tripled your money. Etc.

Hi everyone!
GOOD NEWS.
Friedcat meant that he can only guarantee up to 30% of the total number of Block Erupter USB ordered by my group buy:
347 * 0.3 = 104.1
So I can only order up to 104 units.
But this only apply up to 10th August. So after that Friedcat told me that I could order up to 100% of the total number of Block Erupter USB ordered previously.
So It looks like this will be 1 for 1 of the 1 btc price Its all clear as mud..

The question is when will the price be lower than 0.35BTC for us whom haven't ordered before?

When they are about .15 per they will be a reasonable mining platform. In today's world anyway.

at .15 btc 30 = 4.5btc and about 10gh in hash power. 10 gh would earn 1.3 coins in the next 10 days at a diff of 37 mill

So It looks like this will be 1 for 1 of the 1 btc price Its all clear as mud.. My understanding is same: 30% of the sticks sold by a reseller at .99 are to be sold at .10 to the latest buyers.. This is designed to help with or reduce the negativity a buyer experienced when price dropped right after they bought at .99 level. And it is 1:1 and obviously inventory is allocated to the latest buyers in reverse order until promo units are gone. Until I have this promo inventory received, I don't know who and when. So if you PM me questions related to when are you getting it? Or am I going to make it in the promo pool? I really don't know so its not possible to give you a concrete answer, other then point you to this post

I would guess once Canary gets the promo units in hand ( or confirmation of how many are on there way) he will notify each GB in reverse order until all promo units are gone... What time frame he gives for uptake, who knows, but I recommend people keep coins on hand to cover, I can see lots of `Please, am waiting for my TX, can you hold x 4 me` and pressure will be on the other side to move on to the other batches....
