Hi there,

first I want to say this (because I think many people that feel bad will read this as well) :

I think it that the price of BTC will go up again.. I cannot be sure, noone can, but it will probably be ok again.

But....I sold everything... My cryptocurrency that is Smiley
The reason is that I can not grasp the reason of the cause behind the value changing so much whenever it happens.

"ooooh now it went up a lot"...
"aaaaah now it went down a lot"

Then you google and google and wonder....WHY? Why did it go up a lot. Why did it go down a lot.
Sometimes you can find out about some guy with influence that said something on a conference on the other side of the World.
Sometimes it is because a site like coinbase made a mistake or introduced something new..

If lots of people buy, it goes up.
If lots of people sell, it goes down.
I understand...

But if I look at the big picture, it is still a mystery Smiley

So..while I still had a little bit of profit I sold everything.

I did not put in my life savings, but still enough to make me feel bad if the bitcoin would go down a lot more.

I also have to think about taxes (I hate doing taxes!). Here in Scandinavia I have to write down everything. All the order numbers, the amounts,,.... I will take me hours of looking up how to do it properly.
And then I have  to pay 30% taxes over the profit because they validate the bitcoin like a lottery here (and I see the resemblance as well!)
I also bought it from websites from other countries and then the amounts are of course in the wrong valuta... .....horrible....  Wink

I wish all of you "bitcoiners" a very happy 2018. May all of you have profits!! (I feel like a ferengi all of a sudden)

And ehh...I probably will be back again. Just like a lottery, it is a bit of a "kick" one can get out of having a profit.

Bitcoin is not for everyone. It is extremely volatile and very speculative. Arguably, the trend towards higher prices will continue, but at some point there will be a crash. I think the crash -- the big one -- is a long way off, though. Diversification is key.

Whatever the reason is or was then I think that would iltimately be your call if you decided to just cash out and sell everything then you kght have some valid reasons in doing so and I can see that from your post. Bitcoin is volatile and changing and i think it katters

I bought bitcoin at 18,700, and now it costs less than 14,000. But I'm not going to sell, I'll be waiting for the raise. I hope that after the new year bitcoin will resume its rise in price. Diversification does not always help. Almost all cryptocurrencies have fallen in price over the last 2 days.

Many people are dissapointed because of bitcoin volatility. no one can predict bitcoin prices. We should take a risk, it might be very good opportunity, if you sure that bitcoin and blockchain technology is the future of medium of exchange then you should buy it now.

I hope you are right. You must feel bad now. I hope you did not put your life savings in it! (that is ultimately all that counts).
You are not alone. I read more about people that just bought before it went down. It is just bad luck... ! Sad

have a nice day.

I think you should have sold some when it has reached below 15k. So what would have happen is that you could have bought now at 13k and your average price would have come to around 15.5 rather now which is at 18k.

This is the correction happening as price has rose suddenly up and was getting new high daily. Now I think it can go upto 10k and may rise back again.

Yes, diversification is the key within the world of cryptocurrency and without (meaning invest money with other type of investment vehicles). There is no question that cryptocurrency will be a fixture in the future and it would continue on evolving according to the needs of the market. Just like the old saying goes: Don't put your eggs in just one basket! Investing can be a very complicated matter though the rewards can likewise be great and definitely cryptocurrency as an investment is not for all people -- and in life not one thing can be good for all people and this alone makes the world and life go round and round and more excitement.

If you made a contribution to the crypto currency for a long time, then do not panic because of the fall, in 2018 there will be growth and the main thing is to choose the right portfolio!

I feel you, when it comes to trading my luck is so bad. I just sold every bitcoin I had earlier and after an hour it went up real quick that i panic buy then after buying with maximum amount it went down again. Goodbye profit.

The decision is you'res!
In every decision we had there's a reason why you should sold out all your coin and now you in panicking emotion which is you crash out all of you're coins,
this a normal thing of cryptocurrency you should not be panic a volatile bitcoin may fluctuate the price in crypto market it is a part of the game of bitcoin if you trust bitcoin just hold after all everything was fine.
Here is my advice don't panic just hold on and trust where did you invest unless if you invested with cheap coin, always look up the high valued coins and hold for a long run. But still as what i have said the decision is you'res.

Last few days and weeks have been extremely volatile.

I can understand you cashing out as it can become quite stressful and upredictable.

Everyone talks about big commissions and that Bitcoin will fall very much. Roger Ver log in, please.
Don't panic, you know than BTC is a very volatile and speculative cryptocurrency. Some people and groups of people can manipulate the fears of novice investors and traders.
It's just your decision to sell or buy.

I don' think cashing out was the best option to be made... but is your money .. your coins.
If you decide to turn again into the crypto ... just made good decitions or hire professionals for help.

I think the FUD here are really targeting newcomers. For us, who have been here for so long are not affected by any negative news. Even at the height of China crisis, I didn't blink an eye and just hold on my bitcoin. But today, since the price is dropping at $14K, people panic, someone created FUD forcing newbies to make the hard decisions to sell or incurred lost.

I also sold mine at $19K, everything to be honest. Not because I panic but because I needed the money. But seeing the price today, I will definitely buy bitcoin back again and will HODL on it until such time that I some some emergency situations in my end.

And remember, you will always see people here creating FUD specially when the price is going down. The best thing is to is not to be affected by the negative news, but to keep calm and think of it long term.

Lots of wise answers here!

To those who lost a lot... Good luck, whatever you choose/chose to do.
I will keeping my eye on all cryptocurrencies. Because I find it interesting and I also believe crypto is the future.
But with all the overhead and transaction times.... It has to become better.
I still do not understand how they can make updates in the blockchain. I mean, the technical part behind it. I will read more about that.

Maybe some update can  fix the overhead and transaction times?
Maybe bitcoin will for always be the "in between"-standard, when converting to other currencies (after it has become more stable).

Time will tell Smiley
