In my opinion, there are many reasons like many governments want to make it regulatory and many governments want to restrict it, which has led to confusion in the people. Due to this the demand of bitcoin and other crypto-currencies has decreased and supplies are available in very high quantities.

For me one of the reasons why the Cryptocurrency drops is because of  international holidays like Christmas, Christians and Chinese New Years and other international special holidays that forces investors and holders to dump their crypto assets and turn them into money so that they could fund their celebrations and some of them travels the world.
That's why the Market surged in 4th quarter last year and then dropped few days before Christmas and until New Year. But lately Chinese were celebrating their New Year and the series of FUDs.
this week is the best week since January because they are all pumping and every holders are feeling happy for this.

The market is called market because not everybody buys, there is also somebody who sells. When the people who sell happen to be more than those who buy, you can enjoy a nice price drop.

FUDs are likely the virus of Cryptocurrency market because they the reasons why the market hurts badly and when the market drops most of the investors and holders are losing money. Good thing that this week everything comes to life and the market surges into $500 Billion.
FUDs leads to wrong information like what the South Korea and India does and the rest of the world are now developing and building their own regulations on how to adapt Blockchain but the economy will not be affected.

somehow I agree with this and they are selling their coin without thinking that what they do will make the price get deeper but in the other side, we can take this as our opportunity because we can buy the coin at the lower price. we know that bad news is coming out in every day and many people attract to this and they are making a fast decision to sell their coins.

Just before new year, there was a bad news for bitcoin and all related cryptocurrency market, as a co-founder Emil sold all of his bitcoins and have made a speech, that investment in cryptocurrency is one of the most riskiest asset's and when people will realise and know a bit more how it works, they will start to get rid of it, after that all cryptocurrency (specially bitcoin), dramatically went down. Yesterday bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, as they all are related to bitcoin, has been consolidating from fibonacci levels of 23.6% after sell off. Now the bulls and the bear's will fight, who will win, we will see. I think bulls, will be in control in the longer term.

The real culprit I would say would be media for informing the wrong news which turned out to be FUD. In case of India the govt has not banned any crypto yet though they are still waiting for the report to come from the committee being setup but still media announced as the country has banned the crypto currency.

I think all the price dropped because so many countries banned this crypto, like china, india, and other countries. Actually it is normal when the price ups and downs, but it is littlet abnormal when the price downs till the lowest price.

From what I've seen, it will be the big time cash ins and lately, negative news being spread about BTC. This past holiday season, that's pretty understandable since people would need a lot of dough for new stuff and gifts and parties and all that. What really caught my attention was the negative news/reviews about BTC. It makes potential investors lose confidence in BTC and shy away from the limitless possibilities of investing in it. That, for me, is probably the biggest reason why BTC's currently in a slide right now.

the effect of price down in the market it is commonplace. there are many factors why altcoin is down, here's the stock market. you should try to analyze every situation that causes and effects. you have to find a lot of information to make the next plan.

The policies of some country have issued many different laws  to ban the cryptos so they may influence the prices. After a period of time the situaition will be better.
