ICO won't die.  think,  hybrid blockchains can appear. Until now we’ve seen a proliferation of both public blockchains like bitcoin and private blockchains like Hyperledger Fabric. Going forward, I think we’ll start to see the rise of hybrid blockchains, which combine the best of both worlds.

This can only happen if most states prohibit ICO. This is unlikely. Although some regulation will soon appear

I don't think so ico will die soon, some of them having good team project and successful into pre-sale. But yes, there need some regulation about how to protect investor fund with refund policy when the project failed to reach goal achievement. But, we can be deny it many of them are build/created for speculation only means will going to scam if project was unsuccessful.

I hope the ICO craze will end soon.

I don't think cryptos should be mixed with startups/kickstarters. Cryptos should be trustless, transparent and decentralized, ICOs are none of those things so using a blockchain platform doesn't really offer any benefits to them, in fact just giving a bad name to cryptos.

But a lot of crypto-newbies gamble with them thinking they know what they're doing and that crypto is all about pumping and dumping random "projects". These people ignore, or not even aware what crypto stands for and just giving a bad name to it. And they will eventually get burned and hate cryptos altogether. Profits aren't made from nothing, it comes from other people's losses.
But some made millions on it. Bountiea altcoins can be a pain in signature or trading  but take advantage of it while it is usable or has normal price to profit with. It is possible though that ICO's will not exist cause it was discussed by theymos and his colleageus to put up more barriers towards altcoins and other abusive matter.

I don't think ICO will die in 2018. The reason being that as an ICO ends, another one will kick start. If an ICO project is viable and has good future prospect, it will thrive definitely.

No way that Initial coin offerings will die coming year but yeah we may see more countries bringing regulations into this like USA. Also I think that there would be no crazy money going into ICO's anymore and VC funded/backed ICO's will be the new trend.

ICO are good to invest with. Some users won't agree if the ICO will end next year.

I don't think they will die as long as Bitcoin and ETH increases in value.

people will look at the next bitcoin and will be investing into them. I think they will change to make it easier and safer for investors.

Disclaimer: The text below is a personal opinion of the author. If you have a different opinion, please share it

ICO causes more and more distrust - thanks to the scammers. At this point, companies that produce and sell tokens are more focused on the product. The product is being developed and improved. And all before the token sale.

The fact is: those companies that enter the token market with a readymade product are more trustworthy. Now, few people are interested in a company that launches ICO just to make a name and earn a lot of money.

ICO is a serious campaign. It requires great resources and professionalism.

There are many companies on this path. Recently, Pavel Durov announced the creation of a light wallet and the release of the Gram token on the Telegram platform. Here is another example - KickCity, a company that has existed for two years. KickCity is engaged in the development of the event industry and issues a KCY token for further expansion of the company.

Well, the ICOs have been blamed ever since they started to become mainstream in the crypto world. I think the ICOs offer great opportunities. Look at PowerLedger, look at Cardano, those are strong projects, and as long as you know how to make the difference, then you are on the right track and the ICOs offer great opportunities for both businesses and investors.

I don't think that in 2018 ico will die. More and more companies are inspired by the success token sales at the moment will open new ico. Probably there will be more  ways to regulate this campaign. Also investors learn where to invest and where not those who receive a profit invest even more.

As long as good project will exist , ICO cannot die. Of course there will be a lot of ICOs that are gonna fail but this is nothing new as far as I read here.

It is 50:50, ICO may die and it may not also.
When continuous scamming is present until the future, many people will decide not to trust ICO's and they will not tend to join again, that's a way how ICO may die.
But also, ICO may not die because many ICOs mean that there are many people that are interested trading and selling and also the demand for different crypto currencies are increasing.

ICO will continue to grow, because ICO is the best place to build a project, because if we use ICO then many investors will invest in our project (starting from the community of origin country, until the outside country participate in investing in the project).

Why do you think that? I think 2018 is the beginning of the ico, and ico will peak until the bubble in 2018.

it won't die out. if anything it will increase. the only change will be that ICO's will have to come up with products in advance. people's standards have increased.
