Some people here may be interested to know about a project I'm involved with called Counterparty, which is rather similar to Mastercoin. We just launched, and we have a working distributed exchange, plus price feeds, bets, CFDs, and user-created assets. We're not using an Exodus address, but are rather
initializing balances in XCP (the native currency) with 'proof of burn', destroying BTC in miner's fees. There's no centralization at all, and there's a functional reference client.

The main thread is here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.0.

excerpt:

Crypto Network Technology May Go Well Beyond Payments
The most recent Bitcoin software update allowed for meta data to be embedded in the block chain, which creates the potential for
entities to sit on top of the blockchain and utilize the protocol to facilitate the exchange of assets ranging from other crypto currencies,
financial securities, commodities, etc. Ultimately, we believe the protocol will be leveraged beyond financial assets and fulfill the role of
trusted intermediary in a variety of settings, including property, legal documents, escrow, sports betting, etc. We believe this
development will extend Bitcoin’s reach beyond early adopters to the mainstream public who either choose to utilize the network to due
to superior cost/efficiency or through an intermediary that chooses to operate their business on top of the block chain instead of
traditional rails.

Mastercoin, for example, aims to take advantage of these recent updates and operates as a distributed exchange that sits on top of the
blockchain. This development would enable any financial asset (bonds, stocks, commodities, etc.) to be exchanged across the bitcoin
network in the same way the Bitcoin currency is exchanged currently. In this way, the blockchain acts as a trusted intermediary.

Yes you did, MSC is nowhere near being worth 1/3 of Bitcoin. The only things you can do right now is send and receive. Sorry but its the truth.

I am just curious about how people are doing their MSC transactions, maybe someone else has a different opinion on this (I personally don't like web wallets either, but they exist and are being used, so there obviously are people who want to use them). And as long as there is no nice and clean GUI for MSC transactions its usage will be limited mostly to tech-savvy users. So I am curious whether there is already a promising candidate for filling this gap or we are still at the very beginning.

Also curious, anything coming?

I've read they are working on the wallets. You can read it here: https://talk.mastercoin.org/

A little thing called 'the future' is included in the price of every crypto currency (and every stock for that matter). If you think bitcoin has a market cap of $10b for its actual utility right now, you're stark raving mad Smiley

Hey fellow Mastercoiners,

We have an opportunity for us to get an Android app released, called
MSC Buzz. This would be a free app that provides alerts for the latest news,
articles, updates, links, prices, reddits, twitters, etc for Mastercoin as they become available.

The Developer has already created  Buzz apps for bitcoin, litecoin, and ripple
and I have all three on my smartphone. I can attest to their usefulness, basically
alerts  you the latest news on your coin in a user friendly, non invasive way.

You can see the Dev's handy work on the google play store here:
 https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=CIS+Solutions

I think it would be a handy resource as well as good marketing for MSC.

The developer's handle on the bitcointalk forum is maco. He believes in Mastercoin
and would not mind a donation/bounty in MSC to build the app.

Let me know your thoughts, questions and if we should pursue.

Thanks,
Stew

Hi Dacoinminster,

Can you reveal this SCAM?

The Visacoin IPO thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=384097.msg4132211#msg4132211
The Visacoin white paper thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399837.new#new

I think the Visacoin white paper is nothing meaningful. This guy cheat for more than 135 BTCs!!! I can't believe, he just use the same way Mastercoin used.
