Of course, I don’t really want to pass on my passport information to unfamiliar people, but sometimes I have to do it in order to collect my reward!

It's completely impossible to stop KYC verification from scam people/project. If KYC verification accept every project after successfully end of project which is good for everyone.

you cant stop them but you can do something in order to avoid them . make sure to check every single details of the project that you are applying with . kyc scams are more deadly or dangerous than a regular scamming act because your identity is always at risk . scammers will use your identity on any shady business that they do and you were the ones that will suffer from thier bad doings . you will also find yourself blacklisted on any agencies that is under the regulatory of local government  .

Even Fantom ICO which is hyped at the moment has a leak in KYC data, hackers  stole KYC data of more than 70 k participants!
It was due to http connection and low protection.

Be careful with such projects. Many investors are confused. They can't tell what KYC means for ICO. This kind of investment will make them bankrupt, and every new person must pay attention to the KYC project.

If the ICO you entered is a scam then you are in great danger.
If you will do KYC with just some airdrops then you made your self-fool.
If the ICO is a success and you did KYC you are still not 100 percent safe.
KYC is good for the ICO team and nothing good on the investors side.
Know your customer policies should only be applied to the coins that ask money from you, it is incredible that the ones that need to go through that process are the ones that are receiving what at the time are valueless coins and they are using coins with real value and yet the developers can upload fake pictures or even drawings and no one says anything about it.

I have seen evidence of some scams being run under the guise of KYC in order to gain your passport and government issued id's.  Be careful out there and remember that a lot of these coins end up being scams.  Do you really want them having your passport/photo identification?  This is how people fall victim of identity fraud so please think before sending your information in.

It's really scary in bounties that eventually become scams. Because they can use our passport id in illegal activities. So we would also know who the people who are delivering our documents. And they would also have to prove that they are legal.

It is better that all companies that want to carry out the KYC procedure use the services of Telegram. Then our documents will definitely not go anywhere. And we can be calm about it.

That's what most people don't understand, your ID's whether it's your passport or your driver's license are very important because they represent who you are and if you give that information you don't know what they can do with it, I've seen many cases of identity theft in the news, and even if it seems like something far away that won't happen to you, sooner or later you'll get an ICO that's a scam and will make a mess of your identification.

You are correct it's so disheartening how the crypto space have to KYC collectors, this is not what the crypto was meant for, it's meant for people privacy to be protected while spending their money but KYC been introduced in the space recently is what I don't like. Most especially when you don't know who you are sending it to. People should just be careful because it's possible to hack these data and sell them in dark web.

Yes, you are absolutely right. KYC is a very bad tool. The point is not even that it is difficult to send your data. The problem is scam. They can sell your data on the black market. After registering somewhere you can not. Another person will be registered on your passport.

I would be obliged to verify the identity of those who produce projects. Because too many scammers.

It’s very scary when someone’s identity will be used by criminals, but everyone must be vigilant about their identities and never trust anyone. Most ICO’s and exchanges now requires KYC as part of regulation however we don’t know how secure the gathered data’s will be taken care of. That’s why decentralised platforms should be pushed more, its better to be independent of our actions than handling our identity to someone whom we don’t know well.

I think everyone understands that sending your documents to unknown people can be very dangerous. Instead of sending documents to everyone in a row, why not create one trusted co-operation intermediary who will provide such services for all ICOs? In this case, all documents will be held by one company and if they will be stolen by someone, then this company can be punished by law and their victims will be able to get compensation from them.

yes I am sometimes anxious and think that the coin asking for KYC is fraud. because it's very difficult to distinguish real coins and scams. my advice remains cautious and do not immediately provide your personal data. learn more about the coin.

I do not participate in such companies and I do not advise you because I think that they should somehow be regulated otherwise it all just looks like a dummy

My desire is that there is not was third party in the exchange of tokens. Enough blockchain technology and EVERYTHING! This step was taken to eliminate intermediaries and transparency of transactions.

Here are some important points. First, scams usually are not organized to steal your documents (lol, there are enough documents in the dark corners of the Internet, yours are not needed by anyone), but just to get money. KYC is just a cover. Secondly, this is often a requirement of a bounty manager, rather than a project team.

Of course, KYC data leakage will occur even when ICO projects and their teams are normal, with no signs of fraud. After all, they are not at all interested in keeping our confidential data. For them, this data is generally useless.
As long as the activities of the ICO will not be regulated by the state, there will be no order in it.
In addition, the KYC check is generally illegal for bounty hunters, since we are not investors in ICO projects.

I don't think there is a way to avoid this in crypto world.
You find a bounty, making months of signature campaign and at the end they decide to ask a kyc check out of nowhere. If you see at start you would avoid that but because it is at the end, you can't let your months work go to garbage and so you are doing it. And you don't sure they are not going to use it for bad reasons or not.

You need to be very careful when choosing a project where KYC is required. Especially if you are involved in bounty or in airdrops, it can be very dangerous.
